Earthy, perfumey, floral hops along with some clean, toasty, caramel malt character and plenty of fruity esters in the aroma, but it never seems to come together for me. Opaque tan body is topped by a low, off white head that recedes to partial cover. Raisins, bittersweet chocolate and plums figure prominently in the nutty and sugary flavour. Medium body with somewhat low carbonation. Bottle sampled with beerbuzzmontreal, cathschlag, MartinT, Rastacouere, Olivier_MTL, Siroy and Yowie.

Muddy amber colour with a beige head. Malty, caramel and fruity sweet aroma with notes of alcohol and hops. Malty, caramel sweet flavor with fruity and hoppy notes.

2002 750mL. Light copper-apricot shade with a serious cloudiness, quickly losing its small white head. Fruity example and lightly tart, hinting at vinegar and I can’t say I dislike that part, it suggests gently of apricots, tomatoes and just juicy fruits, but is accompanied by sulphuric matchstick evasions. In mouth, it surprises with a richness I had not suspected, old-ale like indeed with sweet and correct aged maple flavours, lightly floral, honeyed nectar, all soft and straightforward. I kinda liked the taste, but it didn’t have much mouthfeel to go along with toward the further step. Medium bodied tired juiciness. Little flavour carrying there, dulled out carbonation. Why age it at all?

(2005 bottle from someone.)dark clear red body with a thick light brown head that leaves no lacing or webbing as it rests.the first two things i pick up in the aroma or alcohol, and oxidation.its then followed with caramel, brown sugar, green apples, and figs.flavor is alcohol, card board, figs, smoke, caramel, and seltzer water.honestly the alcohol is way to overpowering for a 7.2 beer.and i feel the oxidation has really hides what could be a really great beer.maybe its just past its prime.

Bottle. Hazy orange coloured with an off white ehad. Aroma of spices, caramel, fruits, bread and honey. Sweet flavour of caramel, honey, hops and spices. Hoppy finish. Strange beer.

Cask at the Grey Lodge in Philly. Malt and actually wood is the flavor I got from this one. Different. Good beer.

Bottled. An unclear amber beer with a thin tan head. The aroma is sweet hoppy with a light touch of malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of over ripe fruits, leading to a dry finish where the fruity note carries thru. The body is thin. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

Blind tasting at Papsoe. Cloudy amber colour with a white head. Aroma of malt, caramel and sweet sugar. Funny flavour of malt, sweet caramel, hints of honey and siryp, ends up bitter and alcoholic-sweet.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy amber colour. The aroma is quite sweet with toasted malt and some chocolate. Very sweet caramel, dark fruits, some chooclate and bit of spice. Too sweet.
