Draft at Iron Hill Lancaster...pour was black, little bit of tan head by the time I got it...expected aroma of chocolate, coffee, malts...flavor was much of the same, not too sweet which is good in my book...good lacing, good stout.

Pours black. Not much carbonation. Almost seems flat. Bad keg maybe? The chocolate notes are nice up front but it finishes watery & leaves something to be desired.

Tap - Wilmington. Pours opaque with a light, fizzy tan head, short retention with spare lacing. Aroma is chocolate and light roast malt, dark fruits (plums, raisins), and no hops. Flavor is malty and chocolate, light bitterness, no hops, leather yeast, and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation, low warmth.

Draft @ brewpub. Pours dark brown with thin beige head. Aroma was mostly chocolate with very subtle roast notes. Taste is very smooth with chocolate flavors transitioning to a great vanilla finish. Medium mouthfeel and amount of carbonation, which seemed a little much for this style beer.

Draft at the source. Very dark brown color, thin brown head. Aroma of pure Hersheys syrup. Taste is sweet but with a tad of bitterness at the end. Not my style, but not bad.

Aroma of sweet chocolate, light coffee and roasty. Tastes of milk chocolate, with some light roasted coffee and vanilla. Great creamy mouthfeel with a great body.

UPDATED: NOV 12, 2011 Re-rate, 11/11, Iron Hil Wilmington, cask: About the same as the original, starting out maybe a tad better, but by the end of the pint, a bit much. Milk chocolate syrupy element the most cloying aspect. Decent, but one was more than enough. Numbers dropping only marginally. Orignal rating: On draft at the Lancaster location. The pour was deep dark brown-black color with some mahoganey edges, nice large creamy-tannish colored head, great lacing. The aroma was dry milk chocolate. The flavor was dry cocoa, some coffee, finishing with a hershey syrup-like sweet (but not too sweet) chocolateness. Mouthfeel was moderate to full, not sticky sweet, somewhat of a grainy mouthfeel. A decent brew, modelled after the Rocky River Oompa Loompa (the restaurant write-up mentioned an Ohio recipe)??????
