The distinct roasted & chocolate notes are well balanced by a slight bitterness.

Smooth. Not a huge taste, but solid for a porter. I’d go for it again.

Pours black with a tan head. Good coffee and chocolate flavor. Dry finish. It could have benefited from a little more hops. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

One of the better beers I had here. Nice roasted flavors and medium bodied. Could have a little more complexity and substance too but still very enjoyable.

Solid beer. Enjoyed it on tap tonight at the brewery. Nothing all that special. Chocolate and malty notes.

Draft. Subdued aroma. Less than average carbonation. Rich toasted chocolate flavors and mouthfeel. Slightly bitter finish.

Draft at Maple Hill. Cloudy dark brown color, beige head. Aroma of earthy coffee and dark chocolate. Taste is roasty cocoa and espresso. Nice.

Had this at the lancaster pub. probably the best beer out of all the samples. Nice dark look. Very good tasting mild and friendly roasty effetcs. Smell is just good old plain mildly burnt wood. Never over the top. Yes, an overall really good beer, very enjoyable. Nicely done.

Tap at Maple Shade. Brown pour with nice 2 finger thick head. Notes were chocolate and roasted malts, chalk, nuts, and some light fruit. Body was too thin, nothing that stood out on this porter but that doesn’t mean it was terrible. Just an average offering from Iron Hill.

Flight @ Iron Hill Newark on 6/24/2012. Pours dark chocolate in color with a lasting head (at least for a porter). Thin- to medium-bodied. Nutty and milky in texture and flavor. Kind of standard.

Pours deep brown/black with a medium creamy tan head...nice lacing and retention. Aroma has roasty chocolate. Flavor has good roastiness with dark chocolate and a touch of burnt wood. Mouthfeel is medium/full and the finish is roasty/burnt and dry.

on tap 6/10/12 in lancaster. pale orange-red version of porter brown with an ow head. smells and tastes of molasses, choco, cinnamon (esters?), coffee, spicy earthy hops and a strange herbaceous quality. crisp and rather light bodied... i waited to try this for so long just to be let down...6/3/6/3/13
