COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We cut up 150 pounds of pie pumpkins, roasted them until they were brown at the edges and added them to our mash. Then we spiced it with traditional pumpkin pie spices instead of finishing hops. We call it pumpkin pie in a glass! OG: 1.070 Color: 18 IBU: 30

Newark location. I hate pumpkin beers. I don’t like beers that taste like some store bought spiced cookie, which is how most pumpkin ales taste. This is far and away the best pumpkin ale I’ve had. The base is a malty caramel that reminds one of a good amber ale. The sweet pumpkin fruitiness is present, but doesn’t scream, "HEY LOOK AT ME!". It’s just there, and it’s cool. Mild spiciness gives this one some balance, again, without stealing the show. I still didn’t love it (I think I’m hopeless when it comes to pumpkin ales), but this one was far and away the best I’ve had.

On tap in P-ville...It pours dark ruby amber with a ligjht head. There is defdintely a warming homey aroma of spices and pumpkin. The flavor of delicous cooked pumpkin and the addition of the spices over the hops hits the palate perfectly. The sweetness to balance the flavor is appreciated on the tongue.

MEDIA, PA: Nice dark orange color with a light tan head. There was pumpkin flavor but it wasn’t as heavy as it has been in the past. A little more hoppy than in the past as well. I took homw a growler for Halloween.

Draught @ Brewpub: This one pours a clear, slightly orangish color. There is a bit of a head on it, and it leaves some lacing. The nose is definitely pumpkin pie spice. Potent, but not overdone. The taste is along the same lines. A decent malt backbone with pumpkin pie spices. Lots of them, but not overdone. A good pumpkin beer!

Nice pumpkin flavor. More spice than sweetness, which I liked. Great amber/orange color.

Poured with an amber color, decent head, good retention, good lacing. The aroma was spicey, pumpkins. The flavor was pretty well balanced for a pumpkin ale, nice touch of pumpkins as well as cinnamon and nutmeg, not overboard on either. Mouthfeel moderate but fairly well carbonated, keeping this a little on the dry side (nothing cloying or spicey annoying!).

Golden amber color with light-med head. Smooth sweet & spicy pumpkin aroma. Taste is malty, pretty nice body for a pumpkin. Sweet, sessionable, and about the best that can be expected from a pumpkin beer.

Draft at Maple Shade. Poured a clear orange/copper body with a fizzy smaller white head. The aroma is great with lots of balanced spices, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg and whatever the hell esle is in a pumpkin beer. The flavor is more pumpkin then expected but the spice notes are coming across nicely dominated by nutmeg and cinnamon, along with some toast and grains. Medium bodied with average carbonation to slightly bubbly. Solid but the aroma trumps the flavor.

Draft, at IH media. Pours orange brown, with a small tan head. Aroma of caramel, pumpkin meat, and mild spice. Flavor is a nice balance between spice and pumpkin, with the spice slightly more prominent. Long nutmeg and pumpkin finish. Decent pumpkin ale, but i was a bigger fan of the Imperial Pumpkin from the North Wales location.

Poured a dark dark golden color with small head and good lacing. Aroma was spices and pumpkin. Flavor was a good blend of the 2 a little sweet for me but still good.
