Aroma - for a Smoked beer its subtle smoked beechwood and caramel Appearance - orange gold amber; some subtle haze with a little sediment rocky 2" white head Taste - nice sort of cross between a ham smoked and a sort of unique yeast Palate - body is medium; texture is thin; carbonation is average; finish is more surprisingly Belgian like in feel

From a bottle. Pours hazy copper orange with a frothy off white head. Tastes smokey, bready, and malty. Medium body and low carbonation. Smells very smokey, woody, earthy.

On tap at Phoenixville brewpub. Dark amber with off white head. Smoke and wood pretty much covered up everything except a caramel malt base. Moderately sweet and lightly bitter. Smooth, medium bodied. Not my cup of tea.

Aroma: wow, bold smoky phenolic notes. Slight grassy , husky backing under bold beech wood smoke.8-
Apperance: slight haze , amber with creamy medium lighter top..
Taste/Palate etc. medium bodied, light mineral bottom. Clean soft malts on fairly intense smoke vibe. Drinkable . Late hint of berry top. Quiet true to German Rauch biers.

Bottle from the originating North Wales brewpub. Slightly off-white head on yellow body. Smoke wafts yet it is not overwhelming the palate. Smoked wood and malts, vey smooth mouthfeel with a fruity and orange finish. Bold taste. Very drinkable.

750mL c&c thanks to yourefragile! Pours low haze, bright orange to golden. Weaker white foam. Nose is intense smoked ham, some odd sharper orange mint and peppermint. Taste is orange mint, some sharper spice, oil, almost like an older barleywine overall but only 3.8%. Very interesting little beer. Not sure how old this bottle is. Thanks Moll!

At Maple Shade sampled on tap pours a glowing amber with a thin head. Aroma is very smokey almost like bacon some malty notes and woodsy aromas. Flavor is smokey but very balanced. Body is medium and finish leaves behind a bacon flavor

Very nice smoked beer that I sampled on draft at Phoenixville. The beer poured a dark brown color with a light tan head that left some sticky lacing around the glass. The aroma was like sticking your nose in a bottle of liquid smoke. There was plenty of smoke in the flavors as well, but it wasn’t as overpowering as some others in this style. This beer was very well balanced with a good caramel malt backbone and some dry and woody hops.
