Aroma: wow, bold smoky phenolic notes. Slight grassy , husky backing under bold beech wood smoke.8-
Apperance: slight haze , amber with creamy medium lighter top..
Taste/Palate etc. medium bodied, light mineral bottom. Clean soft malts on fairly intense smoke vibe. Drinkable . Late hint of berry top. Quiet true to German Rauch biers.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
750mL c&c thanks to yourefragile! Pours low haze, bright orange to golden. Weaker white foam. Nose is intense smoked ham, some odd sharper orange mint and peppermint. Taste is orange mint, some sharper spice, oil, almost like an older barleywine overall but only 3.8%. Very interesting little beer. Not sure how old this bottle is. Thanks Moll!

At Maple Shade sampled on tap pours a glowing amber with a thin head. Aroma is very smokey almost like bacon some malty notes and woodsy aromas. Flavor is smokey but very balanced. Body is medium and finish leaves behind a bacon flavor

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Very nice smoked beer that I sampled on draft at Phoenixville. The beer poured a dark brown color with a light tan head that left some sticky lacing around the glass. The aroma was like sticking your nose in a bottle of liquid smoke. There was plenty of smoke in the flavors as well, but it wasnít as overpowering as some others in this style. This beer was very well balanced with a good caramel malt backbone and some dry and woody hops.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a hazy straw yellow color with a soapy white head that vanishes quickly. Aroma of lemon and smoke. Citrusy flavor with a subtle smoke ending. Easy drinker for this style.

Bottle from Iron Hill Wilmington. Cloudy orange with suspended sediment and minimal head and lacing. Nice smoked aroma, malty. Flavor is smooth - smoky and malted. Enjoyed this last Thanksgiving at Tom & Bobís place while playing Uno and stuffing ourselves on cheese and sausage.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
A: The pour is a golden orange color with a big white head. The appearance certainly isnít what I expected...
S: At first the smoke doesnít seem all that strong and thereís just a hint of sweetness. As the beer sits for a moment the smoke really comes out and is pretty much all you can smell.
T: The flavor is dominated by the smoke, but itís not so strong that you feel like youíre chewing on a campfire. Thereís a bit of bread and sweetness underneath it all.
M: Fairly light in body with a medium level of carbonaiton.
O: Iím normally not one for smoked beers, but this wasnít too terrible. Probably couldnít drink too much, but good to try at least.
