3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap in Lancaster, mine 5.0% abv. Dark copper-mahogany with a short lacing beige head. Wonderful Bamberg smoke, clean and woodchippy / workshoppy rather than hammy, really inviting! Smoke holds up well in-mouth without getting rubbery, lasts; lightly sweet and juuust a touch of hop and bitterness. Medium body, clean except for a touch of fruitiness and has a decidedly ale mouthfeel.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at Chestnut Hill location. Amber with faint white ring around glass. Decent smoke/peat aroma. Flavor of smoke/peat not as prominent. Palate is a bit fuller which is nice. I enjoyed this beer more when I coupled it with their ’wurst’ platter

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 oz draft served in a tall mug. Pour is flat amber with 1 finger of off-white head. Nose is oak, smoke, malt, vanilla, peat moss, and an undistinguished light sweetness. Taste is right on the mark with the nose. This one is a real treat. I really enjoy Oktoberfest brews and the smoked oak twist is fantastic.
