Bottle... Post RBSG ’08 O-Town/Vero Beach Throwdown Chapter 8... This beer rocks!... Pitch black ale with a small, creamy, khaki head. Decent retention. The aroma is a rich blend of chocolate, deeply roasted nuts and charcoal malt with a woodsy undertone. Full-bodied with a velvety mouthfeel and nearly expired carbonation. Lightly sweet chocolate, coffee and ethanol. Creamy-smooth, chocolaty finish. Kudos to Beerlando for sharing this world class brew!

black pour with a thin tan head. Aroma has plenty of chocolate and molasses, some carmel. Heavy roasted malt flavor, more chocolate, caramel, paper bag, cream, nuts. Finishes lightly oxidized with low carbonation. Would have been great if I drank it a bit sooner I think...

750 ml bottle @ liquid sunshine tasting - thanks to riversideak; dark brown, thin body; foamy tan head; soapy, roasty aromas; rich and smooth aromas, but body a little on the thin side; mile roasty notes in the flavors, but a little on the mild side; vanilla, chocolate, fruity, rich, dry finish; drinks very smooth; not outstanding, but holds its own against the sexual chocolate for sure; more milky and rich as it warms

Courtesy beerlando. Black pour with a dark mahogany color at the edges. A small, tan head leaves spotty lacing left behind. The aroma is full of dark chocolate, roasted malts, vanilla, caramel, with some tart, dark fruit in there as well. The flavor shows more dark chocolate, fudge, raisins, with a little bit of hops in the background. Medium-full bodiedwith light carbonation and a smooth, creamy mouthfeel that leads to a bitter chocolate finish. This is a really nice RIS with a lot of great chocolate flavor and a pleasure to drink.

Pours almost opaque black, the deepest ruby available, with a frothy mocha head that leaves a thin cap with trace soapy lace. Some vinous and roasted chocolate fills the bouquet well. A very, very nice complex sweet and roasted chocolate flavor predominates the pull. The finish continues the roast, with low bitters and a hint of alcoholic astringency. Full-bodied, the mouthfeel contains soft carbonation levels, and really adds to the overall ambiance of the brew. Sweet, rich (but not chewy) and roasted, a wonderfully malted beer that I’m very happy to have sampled.

Hazy, reddish-hued black-brown. Hot, astringent nose. Thin a slick, smooth texture with low carbonation. Finishes nicely with a rumcake feel. Nuanced, nice, smooth, and accessible.

Dark brown. Chocolatey aroma with some molasses, fudge and a little bit of alcohol. Chocolate, and light brown sugar character. Finishes a little bit hot, and a little bit watery. Hot and syrupy.

Bottle courtesy of Beerlando. Pours black with small tan head. Aromas of roasted malts, chocolate and coffee. Big malty bittersweet flavor with lots of chocolate. Full body with minimal carbonation and rich creamy mouthfeel. Great stuff.
