| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Feb 22, 2007 Outstanding imperial stout, syrup-like body, very thick, heavy dark brown head, black color, cannot see through this beer, nose full of dark chocolate, dark roasted coffee, chocolate syrup & just a hint of alcohol, very smooth & dangerously drinkable, lightly sweet body of flavors that included notes of whiskey, dark chocolate, coffee, slightly bitter hops & a subtle hint of warmness from the alcohol, velvety finish with more notes of chocolate, hops & a bit more alcohol, this is more worthy of the $20 per bottle price, this is one awesome stout

It poured almost pitch black with a moderate tan head. This one was somewhat sour but mostly bitter with smoke, raisins, coffee, and chocolate. Extremely full bodied with very little alcohol showing through. Overall it was awesome. egajdzis (3621), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA

| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Feb 20, 2007 I had this one at P-ville. The pour is onyx with a tan head. The aroma was heavily roasty malty, with a big chocoff smell, plus some molasses and nuts. The palate was dense, complex, very flavorful, with initial roasty dark patent malt giving way to chocoff, slight molasses, and some mild walnutty hints. This one is outstanding! Earlier Rating: 5/16/2005 Total Score: 5 Rerate from a fresh 750 ml bottle at the North Wales location. The bottle cost me $18.50, and it was worth every penny. Obsidian pour with dark tan head. Aroma of chocoff, roast malt, big molasses and figs. Dense, firm, smooth palate with taste hints of chocoff, molasses, and slight rauchiness. Tons of complexity. Up there with the ultimate big boys of impy stoutdom. Excellent! bfeldmann (1042), Wilmington, Delaware, USA

Poured a lovely shade of black with mahogany highlights and a tall, well-retained cap of caramel head. Aroma was of rich dark chocolate paired with airy, grainy coffee and espresso.. full and enchanting with an oh-so-subtle hint of smoke. Deeply-roasted coffee and dark chocolate all the way through the flavor!... grainy feel with lots of power and other complimentary dark sugars. Very smooth on the palate.. rich and heavy with a strong roasted finish and some coffee bitterness.. long, warm finish. Fantastic! This was one of the highlights from a fantastic night for me. Thanks a bunch Blake! BrianO (138), Ambler, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Dec 20, 2003 Had on draft @ Media, PA location. Black but not opague with nice off white head that left good lacing. Aroma is choclate and coffee. Kinda like their Porter but a little more robust. Flavor mirrors the aroma but really it the highlight of this beer.
Palate is exceptional. Its creamy and full bodied with a velvetly feel. Has a long semi-dry finish. I could taste this beer 10 mintues after I left the bar. Outstanding. desurfer (1067), Pinellas Park, Florida, USA

Really, really good.
