Draft - Lots of dark roast, dark chocolate and coffee. Jet black with a rich beige head. Big bold roast, coffee and chocolate with a big bitterness to accompany. Classical styled.

Served on-tap at Iron Hill - Lancaster during their recent X-Mas in July event.

A - Pours jet black; with hints of brown around the edges; with a small half finger tall tan head leaving streaky lacing down the glass.

S - Smells of coffee, bakers chocolate, dark roasted malt, licorice, light smoke, and sweet dark fruits. It is complex yet it smells like any other RIS would.

T - Starts off with plenty of rich coffee quickly giving way to a mix of sweet bakers chocolate, dark roasted malt, light smoke, and some sweet dark fruits. It has lots of smokey roast yet it remains quite drinkable. The finish has plenty of dark roast, mixing with some chocolaty sweetness, to linger on the pallet long after the finish.

M - Heavy body and flavor with moderate carbonation. Rich, roasty, feel with plenty of it lingering through the finish.

O - Very nice. I see why this has won all those GAFB medals over the years. It has lots of things going on inside it, yet it remains drinkable and easy to enjoy. I am glad they snuck this keg on at the last minute.

3 year old bottle from my cellar shared at Damico’s. Pours black with some tan head. Aroma is not strong, but still pleasant with notes of black malt, coffee and chocolate. First sip is glorious with huge mocha and roasted notes. Finish is sweeter than expected with hints of vanilla. Great stuff

Aged 3 years! Pours thick dark unclear with a creamy beige cocoa mixed head. Aroma brings light sweet mocha and roasted dark cacao. Flavor is amazing, bringing huge mocha notes and some dark cacao nibs on a beautiful creamy body.

Bottle shared at RBSDADG 2014. Pours a deep blackish brown body with light off white/brown lacing. Aroma is rich and roasty with notes of dark chocolate. Mouthfeel is rich and creamy on the palate with notes of dark chocolate, light chocolate brownie, rich earthy roast and a sweet sugary character in the finish. Great imperial stout.

draft at iron hill newark..billed as a full bodied stout that starts with a complex malty sweet and high roasted character that is wonderfully balanced with the use of citrusy american hops..this really was enjoyable and one of the better offerings I have enjoyed from iron hill..solid representation of the style..good complex character..roasty..not overpowering..tasty

Bottle. Pours a deep opaque black with a small tan head that has good retention and leaves sticky rings of lace. Aroma of bakers chocolate, roasted malts, coffee and notes of licorice. Flavor was sweet bitter & creamy with roasted malts, mild coffee, dark chocolate, caramel, licorice and had an oily texture with soft carbonation.

Pour is close to black with a finger-wide brown head. Aroma is of roasted coffee, semi-sweet chocolate, and booze. Flavor is on the malty side but is very overpowered by roast. Boozy finish, medium bodied.
