Shag (1767), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA Jun 4, 2008 I guess Im against the grain, hahaha. Anyway A dark orange appearance on this one. The aroma is loaded with citrus and pine with some lemons, grapefruit, and oranges. The flavor is bitter but with a good malt backbone. Some orange peels, lemons, grapefruit, and pine. I dont get the rye in this at all. A bittersweet finish. World class shit! beerguy101 (3468), Newark, California, USA Jun 5, 2008 Tasted at Noogfest 4.0 (2008). This IPA pours a deep orange gold color from the growler. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is grapefruity and citrusy, with a touch of malt. A medium bodied IPA. The malts are caramel and fruity. The hops are citrusy and grapefruity. There is a hint or orange peel and some rye spiciness here as well. Nice balance. Good carbonation. Very nice IPA. Good beer to finish off the Noogfest evening. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and dry. Aftertaste is bitter. TomDecapolis (2389), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA May 13, 2008 On tap at Pville location. Pours a hazy orange with golden notes and a medium creamy/bubbly head. Aroma if rye spiciness, cereal grains, lightly toasted malt, citrus notes, American hops and some caramel. Flavor of the same spicy rye notes, cereal grains, some orange, fresh hops and caramel. One of the more up front rye beers I have had. Well done. egajdzis (2947), Terrapin, Pennsylvania, USA May 15, 2008 Poured a lightly hazy amber color with a small, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral hops, citrus fruits, some pine, and a bit of caramel. Taste was piney, with some citrus, orange peel, big rye malts, toast, grapefruit, and a bit of caramel. DocLock (4083), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA May 19, 2008 Draft sample followed by a Mug Club serving. Poured hazy dark straw with off-white head. Nose was rye malt, piney hops, some floral and peppery notes. Tastes fairly full-bodied, with a piney, crisp hop bill balanced by a bready rye malty flavor. Very smooth and enjoyable.
