Arriving at 9% ABV, it’s easy to identify the Bedotter as a rascal of a beer. Remarkably smooth and well-balanced, this Iron Hill tripel is brewed traditionally, possessing a distinct malt to it as well as a fruity backbone and crisp, dry finish.

Draft. Disappointingly weak aroma and flavor. Doesn’t taste like 9% ABV. Medium yellow color. Clean finish. No off-flavors, but just overall weak experience, esp. in comparison to other Iron Hill offerings.

16oz can from Maple Shade. Pours a clear golden yellow color with a thick frothy white head of foam. Aroma of lemons, urine, hay, and light funk. Taste of faint belgian yeast, light spice, lemons, hay, wheat, and a sweet/almost cloying fruitiness.

Texture of sparkling water, carbonated and prickly. Stone fruits make this tripel fruity but the yeast and alcohol make it strong. Very balanced with the alchy lingering just a bit. It wet my palate for another but I was smart enough to not bite.

Pours a mostly clear golden/orange with a medium white head. Aroma has light fruit...banana, tropical...mild spice. Flavor has lots of banana up front fading to nice dry spice and earthy bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium/full and the finish is dry and fruity/earthy.

GABF 2013. Pours a bit hazy yellow appearance with a white head. Fairly dry herbal hoppy aroma with some light fruit. Fair amount of banana, lemon, and citrus fruits in the flavor. Not overly sweet like some Belgian ales. Pretty tasty.

Average tripel, nothing too exciting. On draft at the Phoenixville location. The beer poured a dark gold color with no head or lacing. The nose was sweet with fruit, yeast and alcohol. The alcohol was very present in the flavors, as well; in fact, a little over-the-top. The rest of the body was fairly sweet, with notes of honey, yeast and sugar.

Great tripel, golden in color, very smalll off-white head with next to no lacing left around the glass, medium in body & mouthfeel, yeasty & sweet nose with hints of orange & peach, very clean flavors, very sweet but very strong, lots of alcohol notes along with some hints of citrus, yeast, peach & banana, clean finish as well with more notes of alcohol & sweet malts
