13 oz bottle, corked and caged, courtesy of eaglefan538. This is the second beer I have had this year that came with 3D glasses, strange trend. Opens with a decent pop. Pour is blueish red, crap forgot to take the 3D glasses off. Pour is hazed ruby-mahogany black with nice settling and a 1/2 inch tan beige head. Aroma of sweet caramel, cooking molasses and bright sweet dried fruit - raisins or craisins even. Some soy. Alcohol heat is also present. Quite a bit of variety in the nose, though overly aggressive. Taste is the bright dried fruit, dates and raisins this time around. Sooner after the fruit is the soy, brown sugar and molasses. Near the end is a blast of alcohol heat. The after taste burned quite a bit. Palate is syrupy, sticky, actually a bit on the thin side. As mentioned previously, a bunch of in your face heat. Wow, this is a very aggressive beer. I wonder what I did to offend it? Thanks for sending this my way Brian, fun one to try.

Bottle 37 cl. Courtesy of Miver. Pours hazy and opaque orangey brown with a beige head. Aroma of burned caramel and alcohol. Quite full-bodied, roasted maltiness and caramel with a distinct warming alcohol in the finish. 010209

Bottle at RLB thanks to Egadjzis I think. Deep dark mahagony reddish brown msotly clear body and a thin head. Aroma is syrupy seweet caramel, corn syrup, molasses, maple and honey, toffee, and fruity prunes and raisin. Sweet flavor a bit of brown sugar, slight salt oxidation but nothing compared to SA TB. More fruits- sugar covered dates, raisin, and green rasisn. More salty slight soy towards the end with an olive brine and maple syrup, leather, earth and slight herbal character. Pretty good and way better than SA.

From bottle, blindtasting #12. Pours hazy brown with a fully gone head. Slight oxidised and wineous aroma with a solid malty base aroma. Slight metallic and slight wineous flavoured with a smooth caramel and roasted malt. Smooth fruity and malty finish. Nice and good balanced, yet with a distinct oxidation note.

Pour was deep dark brown to black color with some mahoganey edges when held to light. Head was weak and the brew had lower carbonation levels, especially relative to the doppelbock. Aroma was deep dark fruits over top of the standard doppelbock that was vinous, chocolate-malty, black-patent licorice too. Flavor followed the aroma but this was a bit too sticky malty and sweet to be outstanding. Some caramel, bready, brown sugar, and maple notes emerged, although this fell short of the soy sauciness of SA’s TB. Mouthfeel was slightly syrupy, sticky, low carbonation. Neat experience, but not a great brew.

13oz. Bottle with accompanying 3D glasses for 3D label: Aroma of dark ripe fruits, light yeast, malts, light alcohol, light molasses, slight wood, raisins, slight peat, slight brown sugar, slight cinnamon, plums, and figs. Poured deep brown with hints of ruby and mahogany in color and a medium-sized, dense, beige head that diminished but lasted throughout. Appears to be cloudy with a few large particles. Flavor is medium sweet. Tastes of malts, wood, tar, raisin, figs, plums, oak, dark ripe fruits, light toffee, light syrup, light tobacco, and molasses. Full body. Thick, syrupy, viscous texture. Soft to average carbonation. Sweet, woody, dark ripe fruit and malt finish. 13+% ABV is undetectable.

Bottle generously shared by Sparky27...ERIC...WOW!!! Loved the 3D glasses, by the way!!! You will be forever haunted by that picture!!! Maroon body with a fluffy latte head that never fully goes away. Smell is molasses, grape juice, maple, and brown sugar. Extremely sweet flavor, not overly complex. The alcohol makes its way to the lungs, providing a nice burn. Can taste the residual sugars and dark fruit long after the sample...a little thinner mouthfeel than expected. Glad I had a chance to try this one!!!

Bottle courtesy of GMCC2181 – thanks G! Pours a slightly hazing dark amber with a smallish tan head. Nose is roasted caramel malt, dark fruits, brown sugar and alcohol. Taste is toffee, molasses, dates, ripe plums and caramelized brown sugar. A little too sweet for me, but that covers up the alcohol pretty well. Medium, sticky syrupy mouth feel. Decent brew. Thanks again G-pers creepers!

13oz bottle with the neat novelty 3-D label and attached glasses. Poured a deeper reddish-brown color with an averaged sized tan head. Aromas of dark fruitiness, roast, chocolate, caramel, molasses, and a little bready. Tastes of dark fruits (lots of raisins and plums), caramel, toffee, brown sugar, and a little smoky. Some alcohol warmth in the finish, but it is 13+%. Sweet but not cloying. Very nice!
