Pours a slightly clear deep amber with a thick off white head that dissipates very quickly. Aroma is fruity/woody...light peat. Flavor is sweet with raisin and fig with with mild earthy/woodiness....light booze...mostly sweet. Mouthfeel is medium and very lively with a sweet, warming finish.

Cloudy orange - brown beer. Tidy white head. Light soft palate., a little dry. Even soft malt. Some fresh orange underneath. A little carbonated bite and spice bring up the finish. A little honey in there. Nice beer, doesn’t taste like a heavy!

Pours an amber brown color with a creamy off-white head. Aroma of toffee, bread, slight smoke, and dark fruit. Toffee, dark fruit, hint of chocolate, and smoke flavor. Excellent lacing. Excellent beer! Very well done!

Pour is a deep brown color with a small khaki head. Nose is of dark fruits, predominately plums, and brown sugar. Taste is very similar with a bit more of an alcoholic note.

A: The pour is a dark amber, maybe amber color with a huge off-white head. S: Surprisingly fruity on the nose. There’s a lot of carbon dioxide aroma to it which sort of detracts from the other aspects. Some nice toast and toffee, though. T: Good stone fruit flavors with a hint of smoke/peat. Plenty of toasted bread/malt with a moderate caramel and toffee flavor giving the beer its sweetness. M: Medium in body with a very high carbonation. O: Good, but the excessive carbonation lessens the enjoyment of the beer.

20101231 tap at Newark. Enjoyed more than expected and was hesitant to try it. Small beige head leaves rings of lace. Medium bodied and less sweet than feared but with a nice floral hoppiness that compliments the earthy peat notes. Less smoky than I was hoping, but still noticeable. Fairly dry to finish. Nice surprise.

Dark pour, very malty beer, also sweet, very smooth and drinkable for a scotch ale, can’t taste the alcohol much at all, had at the brew pub, highly recommend it.

C&C 750 mL bottle from the Lancaster location. The cork exploded out of the bottle... no idea where it went... but fortunately it didn’t gush. Pours a hazy amber color with a thin fizzy tan head. Fades quickly to a ring around the glass. Aroma of toffee and raisins with an earthy note, some toastiness and a citrus hop finish. The taste is toffee, cherries, berries, toasted malts and faint hops. Thin-medium bodied.
