Thanks to MrBendo for the bottle. Pours dark copper with a decent off white head. Aroma is malty, sweet, caramel and biscut. Nice roasty caramel flavor along with earthiness and a tad sweet. Decent body. Smooth drinking and it hid the alcohol very well.

From a 750 ml bottle, shared by Stine, pours a thick, brownish amber brew with a fast dissolving beige head that dissipates clean. Aroma of roasted dark malt, some candi sugar, some smoked bacon and a touch of maple syrup. Taste is medium to full bodied, some carbonation with a flavor that comes off as a peat bomb. Malty, smoked oak, pork and a touch of flowery hops. Finish continues the peat and malt flavor that really goes over the top in this style Scotch Ale. Very impressive!

On tap at the Lancaster brewery. This is brewed under the moniker "Braveheart" Scotch Ale. Talking with the brewer informed me that this is the tap version of the "Wee Heavy" bottled reserve... same brew on draught. Pours a syrupy amber-brown with no latent head. Aerated Candi sugar to the nose. Big, sweet malts accompanied by Candi sugar and some maple syrup and alcohol hints. The finish in is tow, with a slightly sweet alcohol peppering of the back palate. A light syrup mouthfeel presents with some zesty carbonation levels. Not bad... I’d really love to try this one as an aged bottle reserve, though.

Bottle: Brown in color, not much head. In the aroma I swear I smelled some oak, and malt... Taste was peaty, malty, sugar, smoke flavor. Lots of carbonation with a medium texture. Overall a good beer that I enjoyed drinking and sharing with friends.

(750ml bottle) Pours a amber-brown body with a medium-sized frothy beige head. Aroma of grape, peat, raisins, brown sugar, and roasted malt. Flavor of mild hops, dark fruit, roasted malt, light smoke, earthy, and some oxidation.
