3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a pint glass.
This was on tap at the brewpub.
The appearance was a slight hazy burnt orange color with a bar pour’s kind of slim white head that dissipated after the first sip.
The smell had a light earthy spice with a sweet grassy, slight orange peel followed by a light piney aroma.
The taste took all of those previously mentioned flavors and combined subtly in a slight refined sort of way.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a pretty good sessionability about it. The carbonation was there and somewhat bitter with a good harshness but nothing over the top.
Overall, this was a pretty good AIPA that I would have again.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On draft at the Newark location. Pour was golden with haze and a thinner than expected initial head and only ok lacing for the base wit or even IPA style. Aroma was wit like foremost with oranges and coriander most identifiable. Flavor features some tangy hops with some floral notes but they were not strong enough to associate distinct flavors. Didn’t meld together perfectly, but the overall beer was drinkable to decent. Unremarkable relative to what the intent was. Worth trying again with a new approach.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
20140727 tap at Newark. This ones a bit hard to reconcile. Tasty, but I?m not sure if I like it. Lots of citrus and spice that reminds of wit, but then a dose of sweetness and extra lemon. Grains of paradise comes to mind, but I?d rather have lemongrass. The malts are essentially lost to just base sweetness.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Tap at Voorhees. Super lacing bright white head atop a hazy light yellow body. Dreams of coriander but in the mouth it’s really more of a cracker taste. Medium bitter hoppiness is resinous. Semi-dry, clean medium body. Lemon and light pepper from the yeast? Well made, but I don’t like the choice of hops, or rather how they interact with a wit base -- big clash for me.
