3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tap at Wilmington. Hazy chesnut, thin white small bubbled ring, light wisp. Nose is soft, lightly toasted dates and dough, bit of banana esters. Flavor is equally soft, more toasty, less date more banana bread, dryer through soft low carbonation bitterness. Overall pretty sweet and muted but with decent grain and esters to add complexity, and certainly drinkable. Ask for it without the cinnamon gloss as the brewery likes serving this despite it adding sweetness and spice that masks the malt balance and reduces the beer to a thinner, watery contrast.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
on tap at Maple Shade - it was 7% abv this year but you could really taste the alcohol. Otherwise, pretty typical winter ale with the usual cinnamon and spice flavors. The cinnamon rimmed glass was a cool touch, though.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Sample draft at newark brewpub..served with a cinnamon sugar rimmed glass..negative expectations going into this one but wanted to try anyway..cant say very much positive about this.the most memorable thing about this is the odd rimming of the glass, and not in a good way..this smells and tastes like a summer sipper to me..after having some more favorful and better winter warmers recently..this offering just doesnt cut it..
