Bottle, RBAG 2014 prelim. Medoum brow, off white head. Light pine, tannic caramel, tea-like, light. English pale ale? Yes, and a nice one. American pale ale? A low contender.

Bottle - Sweet and acidic and a bit of pine. Cloudy orange with a thin white head. Sweet light malts and a light hop bitterness. Caramel and sweetness, more like an English style. Still nice.

Bomber bought at Super 1 in Rathdrum, ID. Aroma is citrusy, piney, dough, light caramel. Pours hazy orangeish-copper with a collapsing off-white head that leaves a ring of big-bubbly foam (is it just me or do all Iron Horse beers have a head exactly like this?). Taste is bittersweet with flavors of citrus rind, pine, soap, floral. Body is on the thin side, carbonation average; lingering bitter finish. Decent.

Cool label and name idea. The 22oz bomber pours with an amber to copper colored body that supports a tall tan head of foam. The aroma has a mix of malts, slivers of molasses, muted citrus hops and some floral hop notes. The taste starts with bitter tangelo and grapefruit hops as it moves into a thin body experience about midway. The hops stay bitter but become laced with resiny notes from time to time. There is a decent malt backbone to this that’s well off in the background.

Pretty good pale. I love everything that iron horse makes! Good stuff! When traveling through WA, get some!

Grumbler purchase from the Breeze in. I poured this into a pint glass. The appearance is a deep hazy orange color with less than a half finger-ed white foamy head. There is some light semi - sticky lacing gracing the sides of the glass. The smell had some nice citrus - like aspects over top of some burnt caramel malts. The taste was mainly malty sweet. There was a dry citrus aftertaste with the same finish. On the palate, this one sits about a light to medium and gives off a pretty decent sessionable aspect to it. Carbonation seems to be fairly harsh and pounds my tongue into submission. Overall, good APA worthy of having again. It might not be anything over the top, but still good.

Good. Think of this as a lighter malt-forward IPA, or as a hoppy PA. Strong hoppy flavor; bitter, but just shy of a try IPA perhaps. Drinkable, and almost session-like in ABV.

Draught in a flight at the brewpub. Pours a hazy copper color. Nose is fairly hoppy, with some floral and grapefruit elements in there. Taste is a little bitter, but a bit muddled, like it’s trying to straddle several styles, and doesn’t quite hit any.

Beer Shoppe 7th anniversary. Hazy golden color with ivory head. Pine, grapefruit, tropical fruit hoppy aromas. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Nice hoppy bitter pine, grapefruit, tropical fruit flavors with a lightly sweet pale malt base brew___nicely drying finish--tasty.

Bottle:   Deep dark dirty caramel, thick and hazy, large rocky tannish head, fairly clumpy lacing.   Soft hoppy nose, a bit non-descript but a little citrusy, a little floral.   A little flat on the tongue, soft, almost too soft.   Falls off too quickly, a little resiny hoppiness.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Soft hoppy finish, clean, fairly malty, but not terribly bright.   Tiz okay.
