3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours cloudy copper-orange with a medium white head. Aroma is dominated by caramel with a little pine beneath. The flavor somewhat reverses the aroma: upfront pine with caramel undertones, followed by a bitter finish. There is a mild off-flavor, but it’s negligible. A solid NW IPA.

22 oz bomber. Very sweet honey and caramel for an IPA. Bitter finish but you wouldn’t know it coming from the sweet start. Pretty good overall. Glad I picked it up.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
8/20/09 On draft at Red Dog Saloon, Maple Valley, Wa. The aroma is cerainly hop forward, but has a unique bready-sour note that blend into the citrus flora that domnates. The beer pours a hazy orange with a well maintained cream colored head. Flavor has a more even balance, with a more earthy bittering offset by a sweet-sour malt note that is more sugary than caramel in character. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with an equally even carb texture. Overall, an even-keeled brew that never gets overly malty like most "balanced" IPAs.

On tap at the brewery. Poured an orange color with a thin white head. Aroma had some good hop notes, lots of citrus and pine. Finish was nice and balanced with a good malt presence. Aftertaste was a little harsh on the bitterness though.
