I really liked this. The Brewer says there is some kerfuffle about what type of beer it is but it seems like a dark ale. Love the malty taste. This is almost bread to me. Very dark color and decent head. Smells remind me of chocolate and toffee.

Growler from Iron Horse, served in pint glass. Pours dark watery brown with a slight reddish tint and thin off-white head. Aroma is lightly sweet, lightly roasty dark malt; notes of vanilla, dark chocolate, roasty coffee stand out. Taste is similar - clean, thin-bodied roasty chocolate malt, smooth creamy body, clean finish with notes of chocolate, toffee, and vanilla. Incredibly thin body, relative to the big rich roasty flavor - a local favorite for converting people to dark beers. The abv is not surprising for all the flavor here, but is impressive given how drinkable this is. Solid beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a deep brownish black on tap with thin lacy tan head that leaves moderate lace. Aroma of mild roast and sweet chocolate and caramel. Taste is big on the malt to, with an earthy bitter finish though, not sure if it’s hops or acrid malt. Not bad.

A nice dark beer overall. Pours a deep black Amber color with a thick white head. Smells of caramel, coconut and cream. Taste is smooth and creamy with lots of caramel and coconut, along with some cocoa and vanilla. Smooth finish. Had in the bottle.

Bottle from Albertsons. This ones all over the place, like pinkzambia said, lots of different elements of lots of different styles. Yes, its black, head a bit thin for a stout. Tons of sweetness, mostly malt, some candy. Then there?s a smidge of bitterness, equal parts roast grains and hops. So they admit it?s a sweet, malt bomb, and that?s what we get. Definitely not for everyone?s palate. Later warming brings out lots of doppelbock

Bomber from Capital Market. Almost black in my goblet. Malty nose with a lot of black licorice. A little sweetness, but mostly bitter anise. Rich and malty. A little chocolate with amore anise. Very easy drinking. Has a bit of a foreign stout flavor to it. Really reminds me of an amped up version of Mackeson. Very tasty.

Pours deep dark brown with a brown sugar aroma. Taste, is a sweet, toffee, caramel flavor with a minor coffee aftertaste. A semi sweet malt and like chocolate chip morsels. A nice beer for the style, well done.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Dark brown. Tinny brown sugar on the nose. Thin stout lacking much character at all. Not a fan of this one at all.
