4.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20 Cwrw42 (20) - Denver, Colorado, USA - SEP 18, 2012
The more I drink this the more I like it. As the brewer says it defies style guidelines but it works, it really works. First taste was reminiscent of a mild or sweet porter, but then the complexity hits you. Sweet, malty with roasty overtones and just enough hops to keep it balanced.
Blows the 4 pint test out of the water give me 6!

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 jstraw (1654) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 18, 2012
Black with modest, creamy, tan head / Somewhat sweet, toasty nose of roast barley, roast coffee, and molasses / Medium to full body, inky and syrupy, moderately sweet and malty, low hopping, and similarly sweet and syrupy finish / Simple flavors of molasses and coffee / From the description, sounds like the brewers achieved what they set out to do, namely a sweet and lightly hopped dark ale, but, for me, it’s a dubious objective.

Bottle: The aroma consists of cola, chocolate, cherry, and faint spice. It pours a dark brown with some orange highlights and a small beige head that quickly fades to a thin film and leaves some minimal lacing. The flavor has moderate cola, lighter, chocolate, and caramel. The finish has notes of cherries and anise. It’s medium bodied with mild carbonation. Overall, it’s a little sweet for me.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a hazed brown hued body with a small tan head. Aromas are hugely estery, brown sugar, dark fruits, caramelization, molasses, mildly spicy notes with a touch of roast and dark chocolate. Flavors show some umami meatiness, smokey (medium smoke), caramelization, very malty with mild esters and light chocolate. Medium to slightly fuller body, lightly warming with medium to slightly fuller carbonation.
4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 kylevester (11) - - JUN 28, 2012
It tasted to me like a slightly sweeter Guinness Draught with a noticeable alcohol to it. I liked it quite a bit and think it would be a dangerous ale to have around me all the time.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Thewade (172) - USA - JUN 22, 2012
Black ale, but wouldn’t classify as a stout. Nice and smoothe. Easy to drink. Mild taste. If you are looking for a strong stout, you will be disapointed, but as a nice black ale it is pretty tasty.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Lagerboy (668) - British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 20, 2012
Unclear darkest red brown, light brown head fades fast. Burnt sweet dark malt aroma. Rich roasty dark caramel malt taste, smokey dark fruits and nuts, followed by a mild sour bitterness. Softly carbed, medium-full bodied, moderately hopped. Finishes malty sweet. NFL (Not For Lagerboys)
