3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle pours medium brown with small beige head. Malty aroma. Sweet malty taste with slight acidity. Thin palate. Finish continued malts and some acidity.
I liked it better than the score would indicate, it’s really pretty decent.

bottle. lighter bodied deeper amber brown pour. sweet maltiness that made this beer seem more like a American Strong Ale rather than a stout. touch of sherry, malty backbone. medium bitterness. perhaps too aged

Smooth balanced and deceptively strong. A stout, a porter sorta of hard to nail down. Definitely delicious.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Head is initially average sized, frothy, light brown, mostly lasting.
Body is dark brown to black.
Aroma is moderately malty (milk chocolate, caramel), with notes of vanilla, minerals/chalk.
Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Medium body, creamy/velvety texture, soft/lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic.
Pleasant, milk chocolatey nose with a British mineral character...an Imperial dry stout, well, sorta but it’s pretty sweet in the mouth. Very silky mouthfeel is nice. Overall pretty decent.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Deep black coffee brown, I had a very short lived, reluctant dark cream colored bubbly head. Aroma is toast and cherries, dried plums, raisin and molasses. Flavor is sweet, cherry, raisin, hint of cola, dark malt. Finish is balanced and smooth, not dry, not sour. Palate is good for a "regular" stout, thicker than a black IPA, this really feels more stout like to me, or at least porter. Carbonation is good too. Really liking this one!

Robert brought this one back from a trip to Portland. +++ Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer gushed a black color with an enormous beige head that lingered and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was cherry, raisin, malt and a bit of licorice. The flavor was cherry, plum, raisin, molasses and licorice. Medium length cherry and raisin finish. Medium body though overcarbonated. Interesting.

On tap at Tap House Grill, Seattle. A complex, yet highly drinkable beer. Malty notes of nuts, caramel, oak and earth give this beer its own distinct caracteristics. Very nice!

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On my way home from Hangar on the wharf, I picked up a howler of this from Breeze In, Juneau, AK.
I poured this into a pint glass.
The appearance is an extremely dark brown close to black color with a decent amount of an off white foamy lacing trying to grace the sides of the glass but slide for the most part.
The smell tried to have the milky sweet chocolates and roasty coffee to somewhat vanilla-ness up front, but for the most part, there’s a ton of dark fruits in the front as well. I don’t mind it, but it just does seem a little weird for the "milk/sweet stout" style. Anyways, I shall proceed.
The taste was pretty much the same even as it warmed. There is a quick sweet chocolate to dark fruit aftertaste with a long dry and somewhat butery finish.
On the palate, it sits a moderately light to medium and has a very extreme sessionable quality to it. Amazingly enough, I’m trying to figure out how sessionable a "milk/sweet stout" can be, well, Iron Horse did it. The carbonation has got to be one of the smoothest of any "milk/sweet stouts" I’ve ever had, weird, but its almost as if its too smooth.
Overall, this beer is so smooth it almost makes one think is this really a "milk/sweet stout?" As I know it did that for me. I’d have this again and would love to have it with some lemon meringue pie.

Draught at Kokopelli, Port Angeles
Dark brown color with red shades, and creamy beige head. The body is a bit lighter than expected, the mouthfeel is smooth; good mix of roasted malts and chocolate flavor; correct bitterness.
Akin to some Scotch Ale. Pleasant.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Perfect for St. Patrick’s Day. This black hued beer has a limited aroma but the taste is simple and malty. Roast coffee and chocolate and toast intermingle. Tastes much lighter than the ABV suggests.
