This double IPA has twice the hops and grains as its counterpart. Significant floral, citrus, and peppery notes on the nose, yet even with the enormous hop profile, the huge grain bill results in a very well balanced brew.
Hops: CTZ, Chinook, and Simcoe

Draft. Deep amber, creamy off white head. Grapefruit. Medium plus bitterness. Sweetness enough for balance. A big beer, but easy enough to work through. Not too exciting, but solid.

Very hazy amber beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is airy, semi dry and fairly crisp. Malts are sweetish and a touch milky with a little dry cream. Dry piney hops, light spice. Mild hop skunk and orange citrus. Citic peel. Finishes smooth. A little milky sweet but overall decent.

Bomber on 2nd June 2015 into a La Chouffe tulip three times. Cloudy/misty amber with a weak white, wispy head on each pour. I am old enough to remember the TV series Casey Jones, but it was the picture on the front label that made me buy the beer (Texas Liquor, Carlsbad) as the dog on the rail track looks like ’Frankie’ our daughters Black Labrador cross. The beer is a hop monster with a huge bitterness that overpowers everything else the brewer might, or might not have added to the grist. I liked it: I am warming to these exceedingly hoppy West Coast brews it would seem.

Floral and citrus IPA heaven. 22oz pour at home, orange and clear with white head. Hoppy and fruity. Juicy and delicious

Draft. Dank grapefruit aroma. Flavors don’t exactly follow nose: There’s certainly some grapefruit here, but also orange and intense bittering. Mild chocolate malts sit (far) behind it all. Finnish is more bitter, with a bit of chalk. Lively progression. Strong beer.

Sample at the Bistro’s DIPA-festival 2015. A bit hazy light amber with a white head. Aroma and taste of grapefruit, citrus, pine and some light cookies. The finish was bitter and with warming alcohol.

Bomber from whole foods SF. Pours a clear pale orange, light white head. Aroma is orange rind, floral hop, faint booze, pine. Flavor is clean pale bready malt, boozy hops, citrus & grapefruit.

Bomber bottle from City Beer, SF (bought on recommendation of the clerk), drank at home. Slightly hazy rich copper orange with a fading offwhite head. Nose of orange, grapefuit, resin, lots of crystal malt. Tastes sweet burnt sugar and big bitterness, citrus, floral and resin. Medium-full, oily, fairly soft carbonation. Nice enough but too malty for my tastes really. It’s only 2 months old so it can’t be a freshness issue really. Still, it’s not something I’d ever get in the UK.

Cloudy golden with a big white head, lots of sticky lacing. Aroma is earthy, herbal and floral. Taste is herbal, grassy, grains and citrus
A unique but very good IIPA.
