I don’t agree with the 89 score on here at all. This IPA didn’t have much of a hoppy aroma and the hops came through far too grassy in the flavor. It was okay, but not good.

Bomber from Hayduke. We had a bottle together via facebook chat. A third of the pour is golden tinted foam with a hazed, opaque, copper hued beer under it. The nose seems to be classic West coast IPA. It offers citrus hops and caramel. Somehow the aroma does now say it will be bitter and grapefruit. And then the first sip brings bitterness and the after taste is grapefruit. Again, this is classic west coast IPA. Some applesauce is tasted but is never big and later pine is tasted. This was a consistent beer from the first sip. Saying it is a classic west coast IPA is not at all derogatory. That is a fine style and this is a fine beer.

Shared with Srykzone on Facebook Chat. Poured an amber-orange with a big off-white head. Nose is strong grapefruit on a caramel malt base. Medium body and a sticky resin mouthfeel. The flavor is bitter with citrus an pine. Alcohol shows. Long bitter dry finish. Powerful but good drinking. Classic West Coast IPA that flirts with being a DIPA.

On tap at GABF 2012. Pours a clear golden color with a medium white head. A big nose of citrus and especially lemons. A smooth flavor, very clean, citrus, lemon zest, orange peel, good bitterness. Balanced. Nice.

I tried this on tap at Beer Lands inside the Outside Lands Music Festival in San Francisco. Great double IPA, nice malt taste with a big hoppy punch.

Out of a bomber. This is a pretty good IPA (really a double) with both nice hop bitterness balanced by the malts. A little viscous from the hop resin. The alcohol is pronouced.
