A - Served a clear red with a touch of orange and very little head. The head fades down at a normal pace leaving behind a touch of lace. S - Aroma is a mix of sweet caramel malts with some spices, chocolate, and farmhouse yeast smells. T - Starts off with a mix of sweet rich caramel malts and grains with some farmhouse yeast spices and some chocolate. Through the middle, the yeast character gowns with a bit of funk and some more cocoa and bready malt flavors come through. The finish is a mix of earthy flavors with some spices, grains, chocolate, and yeast character. M - Medium-plus bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a spicy and sweet finish. D - Very drinkable. The chocolate added is an interesting take on the style, but works very well and the overall balance is quite nice.

at Beer Rev. Chestnut pour with billowy off white head. Creamy medium body. Semisweet nose with a little musty yeast. Dark fruits and hint of chocolate. Dry finish. Didn’t expect chocolate in a biere de Garde but its works. recipe Might work well as the base for a sour
