Visited the brewery in the Swan Valley, did a few tastings, then left with a carton of their mixed offerings. Overall, a very worthwhile venture! A range of styles that are mostly quite well done, and at least worth a taste. This is a surprise for a lager, pouring a copper amber with a slight haze, and a creamy head that lasted nicely. Surprising aromas of vanilla and tropical fruit, along with the expected maltiness. These carry over to the palate, which remains sweet through the finish. Definitely different, but quite good!

ALLOVATE (2386) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - APR 8, 2005
Tasted from the bottle (4.4%), and poured into a Pilsner glass. A thin off-white head formed atop a hazy copper body. Unusual aroma of pineapples and biting spice. Similar in the mouth with pineapples and other mixed fruit juices across the palate. Light toasted malt flavour upfront and finishes with a bitter-sweet malty swallow. Lightly carbonated and medium light bodied, this one seemed quite clean and reasonably balanced. Wouldn’t go calling it a Märzen, but it is otherwise a good sessionable Lager.

bluevegie (3053) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - JAN 23, 2005
Light brown/copper coloured body with a poor head. The appearance wasn’t that impressive and this beer didn’t get any better, flat malt taste that didn’t last or leave much of an impression.
