On tap @ Public House Temecula. Bright tangerine with a small ivory crown. Slightly alcoholic in taste but definitely feel the high ABV in the belly. Lots of citrus notes accompanied by residual sugars. Aggressive for sure...but still unique and enjoyable!

This is a massive beer. 22oz bottle poured at home. Clear orange with sticky and foamy white head. A fruit bomb. Tons of floral aroma and taste. Grapefruity, apple, lime, and hoppy as hell. Light bitterness for a strong hoppy brew. Boozy, but not in a bad way. I likey.

Bomber from CraftShack. Looks orange in dim light, but gold in bright light. Transient white head. Aroma is fruit, but there’s a lot of confusion. Med + body. Flavor starts quite hoppy, shows some caramel support, but then it’s like solvent. Not in a totally bad way. Just that the heavy ABV doesn’t seem to work well with the massive amount of hop. With time passing on the palate adjusts. It gets even more incredibly hoppy, develops some juicy fruitiness, and all the heat is down the gullet. Maybe this is what happens when hopping goes beyond dank. Everyone who gave this a rating below 3.6 should think about going again and taking it slow. Or aging a couple decades and losing some nasal capabilities. :) Side note: burps good Second side note: rating is affected by initial take, but I tried to correct to the way it’s finishing. As the alcohol takes hold, it gets better for sure.

>> Pours clear orange, okay to weak foam. Nose is onion, cabbage, smells bad/vegetal, garlic bread. Funky. Taste is sticky, orange candies, strawberry, boozy. Gross. Probably the worst from Ironfire.

On tap at Urge as part of their Ironfire night. Pours a medium golden orange with a one finger off white head with nice lacing. Aroma is of citrus, pine, tropical fruits, sweet malts, herbal hops, stone fruits, mint, melon, and some light booze. Taste is very similar to the aroma with a lot of citrus, pine, sweet malts, and a little booze. Has a medium-full body with a creamy mouthfeel and a slightly dry, pretty bitter, long finish. Overall, a nice triple IPA that must be a new and improved recipe from what they were using last year.

10 ounce pour at the Ravenswood Artfest Detour tent. The aroma pops out with a two-foot radius, pleasant and piney and abundantly hopped. There’s a minor vegetal presence too. Appearance is a dark yellow, thin layer of white foam on top. The flavor is juicy hops and some assorted seasonings, as if there were a dash of spiced ale thrown in. The biggest draw is the drinkability. For a 12%er, it’s dangerously quaffable. Medium bodied, moderate-to-low carbonation. Overall, I’d peg the flavors at a dipa range, and it’s satisfying in that league. It smells strong hopped enough to go into triple territory, though.

On tap @ Ironfire. Pale orange pour with no head. Smells like raw onion and garlic. Very boozy, some herbs (oregano?), solvent, and rubber. Bleh. The flavor is worse. Harsh garlic and onion flavor. Oregano, rubber, and booze. Very bitter and solventy on the finish.
