Draft at the brewery taproom. Pours rich brown with a creamy, tan head. Good balance here. Moderate roasted malts, milk chocolate, hazelnuts. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation and creamy texture. Still well balanced to finish with notes of ash, charred earth and baking cocoa. Solid stout.

Bottle; poured a black color with a nice light brown head. Nice looking. Aroma of coffee, hazelnut and caramel; touch of cocoa. Very nice aroma. Full mouthfull with some creaminess. Alot of coffee and nuttiness; decent bitterness with a nice burnt finish. Could have used a hint of sweetness to provide a bit more balance, but overall it is quite nice.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at the brewery. It pours black, translucent, with a small persistent head and a lot of carbonation. It smells awesome, very very pleasant. The taste is nice and bitter, you can taste the hazlenut and coffee immediately. If you like coffee you’ll love this beer. 60 IBU’s--you can definitely taste that, too. Nice and strong.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap at Ironfire. Pours a clear deep brune. Sheets of thick lacing. Nose starts with green coffee, a tad vegetal, moving thankfully to rich hazelnut, some intense decadent chocolate mousse. Taste is heavy hazelnut, vanilla, chocolate, jalapeno heat. Palate is bitter, long finish. Solid stuff. BA version was getting insane for the abv.
