Dark black on the pour. Almost a morning coffee roasty aroma. Hints of dark chocolate and hazelnut with a light bitter and hoppy taste that finishes smoothly on the palate.

bottle sample from bomber bottle, poured a deep dark brown to black colour with a beige head. nose of sweet dark caramel malts, roast, sweet bakers chocolate, toffee, vanilla, hazlenuts, burned roasted malts, char, some dark coffe beans, finish is quite a bit tin, and not to long lasting,

Opaque black beer, decent tan head. Palate is dry and has modest fine carbonation. Cereal nose. Dry bitter dark chocolate. Artificial chocolate. Trace of burned coffee. Dry finish. Hard work!

Barreras (1228) - Diamond Bar, California, USA - JUN 9, 2015
Pours a deep dark brown color with a coffee malt aroma. Taste is full flavored with a coffee and roasted malt flavor. The malt tastes slightly overcooked, leaving a burnt aftertaste. Overall a decent beer that could be more flavorful if the recipe was tweaked a little.

Bottle @ Beer Temple, generously shared by Remco & Denise, thanks! Black color, oily. Aroma’s: strong vanilla at first, with Nutella, sweetness. Retronasal there more hazelnut, roasted malts, some red fruit. Flavor is moderate sweet & moderate bitter, hazelnuts. Light bodied, but not thin. Long, rather bitter finish. Nice!

RedSox2004 (1421) - Pacific Palisades, California, USA - MAY 16, 2015
Pitch black a hint of ruby highlight, two-finger dense creamy brown head that dissipated quickly and left nice lace. Aromas of strong hazelnut coffee, and roasted malts, maybe a touch of chocolate poking through the coffee. Strong coffee bitterness up front, accompanied by ample, almost overpowering, hazelnut. Light to medium body, minimal carbonation, thin mouthfeel and a bitter finish.

Bottle. Syrup-thick and ebony in the glass, with a dense head of caramel-colored bubbles. Aroma is intense with coffee beans, hazelnuts, vanilla and a bit of toasted sourdough. The flavor is more subdued and far more bitter, with a tangy chocolate twang, mild nuttiness and a finish like day-old coffee. Medium-light body; mild fizz. It avoids tasting artificial, as most hazelnut coffees are wont to do. Good stuff.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with small beige head that leaves spotty lacing. The aroma is roast and hazelnuts. Medium mouth nice roast and nuts with lingering bitterness, good.

yackery (159) - California, USA - JAN 19, 2015
UPDATED: JAN 21, 2015 Draught. Lingering sandy head like foam on a coffee / root beer float. Nose and taste are same: rich chocolate, nut and roast coffee ice cream pie with fudge icing and graham cracker crust. Taste is sweet like the best ice cream - an enhancer not the end to a marshmallow means. This is the reserve ice cream for adults. Bitter chocolate and bitter coffee or good bitter roast finish masterfully balances the recipe. Palate is smooth but filling enough for the best small, big coffee beer lover to nurse this alluringly libidinously decadent profligate pie of a 6% beer. Overall, rather roasty.

Black pour from 22oz bottle at home. Choclate and cocoa aroma. Creamy and milky. Brown head. Nutmeg and carmel notes. Very good

Bottle served in snifter: pours a deep cola brown with an okay head and minimal lace.Holy Hazelnut Coffee Man! Some roast and char too with faint mocha undertones. Honestly this is just too one dimensional and too lacking of body to enjoy the full bottle. Well at least they did not hold back on the Hazelnut so +1 there.
