It’s a sin to call this beer a pale ale, it’s so much more than that. Synner is slightly bitter with a punch in the face of hop aroma and flavor. Brewed in the tradition of a So-Cal session ale,it’s copper in color with a medium malt body. This ale is brewed to be dry on the palate and have a distinctive fruitness found in the aroma. Synner is sure to satisfy both novice and experienced ale drinkers.

On tap @ Ironfire. Clear golden pour with a white head. Nose is really juicy citrus fruits. Tons of orange and grapefruit as well as pineapple, mango, and melon. Really nice hop flavor, too. Bright citrus notes of grapefruit and orange. Sweet pineapple and mango fruitiness, and melon. A bit of doughy malt and a light bitterness on the finish.

On tap at the brewery. A poor excuse for a pale ale. I don’t know what to call it. It’s golden yellow, with a small persistent head. The aroma is simple, cheap, bitter, and unpleasant. The taste is just like the description says "a punch in the face", but that’s all it offers. It’s confusing hop punch for flavor, and there’s nothing to back it up after the first taste. I don’t know what they’re doing, but they’re doing it wrong. There are way too many good pale ales in San Diego for this one to sell.

Tap at Ironfire. Pours a clear, light golden. Webby white lacing. Nose is fresh mango, hop resin, squash, really nice. Taste is squashy, fresh hop resin, melon, cantaloupe. Palate is juicy, fresh, intense hop bomb. Impressive.

650 ml bottle. Pours a translucent copper color with a small white head that has fair retention. The aroma is big and bold with grapefruit, tangerines, cilantro and weeds. The taste is not nearly as bold as the aroma, I get bitter grapefruit set in a biscuit malt base. The palate is lite and the carbonation is lively. Finishes medium in duration and dry with lingering bitter oranges. Overall: This is a fine easy drinking pale ale. It may become a regular this summer.

Pours a very clear golden color with minimal to no lacing. Very mild carbonation. Aroma is a pleasant cirtrusy, floral hop character, reminding me of some Galaxy hops. Taste is mild sweetness and bitterness, matching well with the aroma. Light in body with a very mild bitter finish. Very drinkable and tasty pale ale.

Bottle from South Bay Liquor: Appeared a dense golden pale ale color with a topping of thick white pillow of foam head. Aroma is bold with a lively fragrance of hops that would have fooled me into the notion that this beer was in actuality an IPA style and not the typical smell of a run of the mill boring pale ale. The drink is extremely bitter yet has a touch of sweet and tart like fruit flavors paired with herbal flavors of tea and wild honey. As for the aftertaste, traces of citrus like grapefruit juice as well as metallic and sweaty socks funk fill up the finish. This is truly a knock your socks off type of pale ale which further reminds me that Iron Fire Brewing is the new kid(s) on the block to buy and drink anything new they release. I absolutely love the design on their bottles especially this one with the rolled doobie blazing and some big boobies surrounding the card game.

One of my favorite Pales on the market today! Big citrusy nose with some faint biscuity malts in the background. A fantastic session pale.

From a tap at the brewery. This is a great pale ale and what you would want from a pale ale light and Hoppy.
