Brewed in the style of an Imperial Porter. Vicious disposition is a surprisingly smooth imperial, brewed with local avocado honey. Complex malt flavors lead into a rich and buttery finish, making this deceptively dark Porter easy to drink. Enjoy Vicious Disposition at a slightly warmer temperature than usual.

A pleasant surprise. Aroma is roasty coffee, dark chocolate and a sweet malty honey. Pours black with a nice tan head. Taste is ultra roasty with dark chocolate and a sweet honey malt behind it. Finishes with a great roasted coffee mouthfeel. Dark a nice.

Bottle shared by Jesse at Johns. Pours dark brown with tan head. Nose and taste of honey, roast chocolate malt, vanilla sweet molasses, roast coffee and a touch of pine. Medium body. Great balance.

On tap @ Ironfire. Black pour with a small tan head. Very roast forward nose, some ash, coffee, and coffee grounds. Licorice, dark fruit, burnt sugar, and a slight nuttiness. The flavor is kind of bitter up front with lots of roasted malt and coffee grounds. Burnt sugar, licorice, dark fruit, burnt nuts, and a hint of alcohol.

On tap at the brewery. Itís black, opaque, with a tan head and good lacing. The aroma is warm, alcoholic, and toasty malts, nice. I usually despise gimmicky attempts to use weird local ingredients in beer (like avocado honey, whatever the hell that is), but in this case, the result is pretty good. Itís surprisingly balanced for how strong it is, with lots of warmth, and not over-hopped. Really roasty-toasty for the style, which mutes some potential complexity.

Tap at Ironfire. Muddy dark brown with red highlights. Sheets of lacing. Nose is unassuming, muted hazelnut, soil. Taste is weaker, dusty, black tea, lemon, hints of dark chocolate. Palate is thin, soil heavy. Weak for imperial porter.

Bomber from CraftShack. Pours very dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is chocolate and thereís a hint of something suggesting cinnamon. Full bodied. Flavor is primarily chocolate. Itís an earthy chocolate. This ale is very dry, tho the label says brewed with honey. Finishes chocolate and dry. Maybe with a honey hint coming out. Or not. Very tasty.

650 ml bottle from Bev4less. Pours a dark brown color with a medium tan head that has fair retention. The aroma is a bit subdued with damp earth, dark bitter chocolate and mocha. The taste is very cocoa forward with lots of assorted chocolates, mocha and bitter walnuts. The palate is full and creamy with soft carbonation. Finishes long and dry with bitter chocolates as an aftertaste. Overall: Good stuff, initially comes across as a bit sweet, like a milk stout, but that slowly fades to an intense bitterness that is most pleasant.

Bottle from South Bay Liquor: Poured a dense creamy black liquid that created a thick head of foam. Aroma is rich and robust with whiffs of chocolate mousse while also smelling like dark chocolate. Flavors are amazing and hit hard with strong notes of fresh roasted ground coffee bean that comes across as extremely bitter while a taste of sugary sweet malts bring upon flavors of melted dark chocolate that rounds this Impy porter out. I am unable to directly taste any traces of honey, but thatís not to say the honey isnít there because the drink does have a pleasant sweetness about it.

Pours deep dark black with a thin tan head. The nose is cactus, honey, light chocolate, coffee, pine. The taste is high sweet at first but then massive bitter which rides through the finish. Not typical for a porter. More like an RIS. The mouthfeel is fizzy and poppin, yet has a creaminess to it. The body is heavy and the finish is long. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
