Bottle courtesy cheeseman. This one pours a hazy golden color with just a few bubbles around the rim. The aroma shows tart lemons and green apples, old musty elements, and some mild funk. The flavor follows with the funky tart green apples, lemon peel, citric acidity, and some old funk. This has a nice little sour flavor. Light bodied with subtle carbonation and a very dry finish. Pretty nice easy drinking cider.

The 2nd Basque Cider i’ve tried. Tart funky apples on the nose, lemon peels, with hints of sweet apple juice. Pours cloudy gold, still. Tart apples, crab apples, medium sourness, a little lighter than the sarasola, but very good as well.

cheeseman again! Aromas of apple and light lemon. Flavor has tons of tart apples, light sourness and some vinegar notes. Unique and pretty damn good!

Bottle… October ’09 O-Town Throwdown... Cloudy straw-colored cider with no head. The funky aroma offers sour and fallen apples, vanilla and hints of cinnamon and clove. Medium-bodied with a rumor of carbonation. The flavor is straight-up sour apples and vanilla. I don’t know where all the vanilla is coming from, but I dig it. Oak aged, maybe? Big thanks to the TheCheeseMan for sharing this bottle!

Tasted at Otown Throwdown courtesy Cheeseman. Hazy light yellow pour. Tart apple aroma. Semi sweet apple taste, no bite. Decent cider.

UPDATED: NOV 9, 2010 Bottle, courtesy redlight. Poured from a good distance, as is proper, the lightly hazy, golden colored body shows just a few fat, clear bubbles at the head. There is, appropriately, no lacing. The nose shows sharp, musty apples, with a good amount of old, saturated wood and some lacto-pedio, funky tartness. Hints of dust and lemon creep in as well. Flavors show the same, very sharp and dusty, with a good amount of lemony, citric acidity and puckering Granny Smith apples. The woody funk is quite evident. Light in body and quite dry, it drinks fairly easy, yet is parching. Solid stuff. Very similar to the Sarasola Sagardoa, only less intense in all facets.

Courtesy ChzMan. Hazy whitish yeallow, white carbonation. Nice acidity, like a mild version of the sarasola. Very nice cider.

Bottle shared with Beerlando, GodOfThunder, and redlight at Redlight, Redlight – thanks Brent. Pour is still. Cloudy straw colored with a slightly sour nose. Some wet hay/barnyard funk in there as well. Body is light and crisp. Flavor is much like a granny smith - tart, astringent, and very dry. Quite nice.

UPDATED: OCT 18, 2009 This is solid. Bright green bottle, but the cider is cloudy gold in appearance. Lots of yeast in the aroma with apple. Flavor has hard cheese, like parmesan or manchego, as well as some oregano. A little barnyard character. Light apple, and low carbonation. Unusual.
