Heavily roasted black and chocolate malts are added to our Pale base malt to create a uniquely bitter and rich finish to our Stout. With a rich, coffee-like texture and a dry and smooth finish, it’s the perfect winter companion with any of our winter oyster dishes. And if that weren’t enough, it makes the perfect black and tan along with our Pale Ale.

500ml bottle pours black in color with a finger of beige head that retains well and leaves some decent lacing on the glass. Aroma is dark roasted malts with some hints of coffee and chocolate. Taste is roasted malt bitterness balanced with chocolate malty sweetness with very little hop presence. Body is a little thin for the style and carbonation is light. Would be an excellent stout if it had more fullness to the body, but still a very enjoyable brew.

Large bottle. Pours black color with a large frothy brown head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Medium roasted coffee sweet malt aroma. Medium body with a dry smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium coffee bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met.

Tap in El Nubichimo, Yokohama care of TimE. Black opaque with thin tan head. Nose is deep deep dark chocolate and then rosted grain, almost burnt notes and some milkiness. Taste is roasted grain, dark chocolate, and then coffee finish. Body is quite light though and not much trace of hop. Lovely choc though.

Keg, BeerFest Daisen, 23/09/11. Pitch with a good creamy tan collar. Coalsmoke and dark chocolate aroma, a little carob. Convincing ashiness, smoking toast, chocolate. Bittersweetness, balance. Would hold its own in England.

billed to me as a stout with brett (i didn’t like where this joke was going) .. . pours a dark tan, great foam .. . smells of roast and cherry skins .. . same flavour as the smell and effervescent as hell .. . ahhh infection, ha saw! .. . my cat drinks water out of the toilet, trust me- it doesn’t taste all that refreshing...

I drank this from a bottle into a tulip at Local Option...The beer is light black ok tan head, nothing of note. The aroma and taste are both super, not a lot to draw from here. A little coffee buts its sweet. Not bad tasting, just kind of boring...The feel is terrible, super light, almost watery. Easy to drink, but almost pointless with so many better options.
