Bottle at the RBSG Grand Tasting LA thanks to KyotoLefty. Pours a clear orange. Medium white foam. Nose is big lime, coriander, and cheese. Taste is clean, fresh, lime pulp, honey, spice, curry. Hot pepper finish. Oily palate. Very interesting. I’ve never had yuzu, but this is looks like a good fruit to experiment with more in brewing: heavy citrus with a chili spice balance. Nice.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Scopey (3380) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 2, 2011
Bottle and Keg at the Japanese Craft beer tasting at the White Horse. It pours light hazy golden yellow, with moderate carbonation and a 1cm white head. The nose is lemon, lime peach, apple, wood, grass, sweet citrus and toffee. The taste is sweet lime, lemon, tangerine, bread, oak, grass, light ginger, bamboo and hay, with a dry finish. It is very woody, and perhaps a bit thin. An interesting ale, but not overly drinkable. The bottle was much fresher tasting than the keg version.

26th May 2011 Bottle at the White Horse. Big thanks to Doug, Jamie and Mark for arranging, facilitating and serving. Cheers Guys! Very hazy amber beer, big fluffy white head. Sherbetty citrus nose. Light, semi dry palate - very light. Fresh vibrant seltzer minerals. Must be Sorachi in here - creamy lemon. Also mild minerally lime and tangerine from the Yuzu I guess. Some tangyness as well. There is a certain ’Refreshers’ sweets vibe going on. A little seltzer minerally bitterness in the finish. Overall though a really nice fruit beer. Was sorry when I finished it!
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 KyotoLefty (4777) - Kyoto, JAPAN - NOV 3, 2010
Draught. Nice citrus aroma—works with the hops. Medium body Medium rich malt flavor, fruity, nice bitterness, though it becomes a bit astringent in the end and after drinking a bit of it. Really nicely integrated fruit, though the bitterness of the peel is a bit too harsh. Nicely done fruit beer, overall.
