Cask at the Crosse Keys, JDW, London. Pours bright, clear gold with a foamy white head. Pale and bready malts, pretty dry, some dough. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Odd notes here. Yeah, some odd stuff going on. So so overall.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms, Bristol, November 2012. Cooper in colour, with a slight, off-white head. Malty and yeasty bitter with some redeeming citrus fruit sweetness and decent, bitter finish.

Knights Templar, Chancery Lane1 Nov 12. JDW Festivaløl. Gyldenbrun. Litt skum som blir helt borte. Beskjeden fruktig aroma. Søte plommer. Smaken veldig tørr frukt. Syrlig fruktig ettersmak. På det jevne.

Cask by handpump at Counting House, Glasgow (29 Oct 12) - reddish amber, off-white head, resin, acetyl and bready flavour, no bubbles

Caramel brown colour with a creamy off white head. Caramel malt and light hoppy aroma. Medium body and a creamy texture. Light tropical fruity flavour, light hoppy and a fine caramel malt background.

A cloudy, amber beer with not much scent. It’s got a clean, bitter flavour but there’s not a lot to it. Drinkable but unmemorable.

Cask conditioned handpump Eastgate Northampton 01/11/12 An amber coloured beer with a whitish head. Full of Burton snatch in nose with nowt else. It’s in the mouth too but it’s joined there by a pleasant fruity hoppiness. Some real sweet fruitiness in this which is pretty characterful and tasty. I quite liked this.

Cask conditioned at the Ralph Fitz Randal (JDW), York. Thin white head. Gold body. Sulphur and grain. Bittersweet. Dry finish. Was actually concerned that I’d be served Pedigree by mistake, and then I realised this was brewed at Marston’s.

Shared with Finn at The Knights Templar. A festival real ale from cask that pours a copper coloured body with a slight haze. A few bubbles to the rim of the glass. Modest aroma of grass and hay. Fruity taste with malty sweetness beneath. Bittersweet endnotes. Average (London, 01.11.2012).

On cask at The Standing Order. Pours a golden colour with a fair white head. Aroma of caramel, grassy hops and musty yeast. Similar flavours with mild carbonation and an oily mouth-feel.
