Like the Brewer’s Blackbird (Euphagus cyanocephalus), Island Brewing Company’s Blackbird Porter is best seen in full sunlight, where the dark, roasted Chocolate and Crystal malts in the grain bill just barely let the light through. With 40IBU’s of Cascade and Magnum hops, the flavor is intricate, gregarious, one that skitters, darts and then proceeds into strong, direct flight over the palate.
