Our London Porter is a dark, rich, robust and roasty ale right around 6% ABV.

Served on tap at Opal in SB. The appearance is a nice rich brown black with a small tan head. Nice roasted malt, touch of black licorices, and coffee in the nose. The flavors are rich with roasted characters, cereal. Mouth is creamy. A nice porter.

2.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Draft at brewery, 02/18/08. Clear dark brown, small skin of foam. Aroma is nutty and a little fruity. Dark malts and a slight bitterness are overpowered by the mineral water flavor that several of this brewer’s beers exhibit. The brewmaster told me the water was hard up here and that they conditioned it. Maybe they overdid it, because beer shouldn’t remind one of Perrier. I think there’s a good beer in here, but it didn’t quite emerge.
