Deep hazy amber, small creamy white head. Odd but quite pleasant aroma. Grapefruit and smoke with undertones of rubber and minerals. Saffron and cedar wood in flavour. Thin and light body. Dry bitter and woody aftertaste with a hint of grassy hops. Quite interesting, lot’s of character in this one.

Bottle. Unclear medium amber color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is light to moderate hoppy, flowers, grass, moderate yeasty, yeast, light to moderate smoke (smoked peat). Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration, and a dry finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (301007)

berkshirejohn (3020) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - MAY 23, 2008
Bottle conditioned, 50cl, from Westholme Stores, Goring-on-Thames, Oxon. Bright copper with a creamy head; quite lively to start but settling down quickly; rich, oily, smoky, fruity aroma; sweet and fruity at first, with a citrus edge cutting through; leaving a dry, grassy, hoppy finish. Excellent.

Beershine (4766) - The Sunshine State, Florida, USA - OCT 21, 2010
Cask @ The White Hart, Port Ellen. Nice amber hue with a tight head. The aroma is nicely balanced with earthy, spicy hops. Juicy body. The malt flavors are lovely and they shine from a fresh cask. The flavors are balanced and nicely bready. Slight toastiness throughout and a lingering toasty finish. Very nice bitter.

liinis (1153) - Helsinki, FINLAND - FEB 9, 2011
UPDATED: MAR 31, 2011 a bit hazy very dark mahogany or copper clear colour with almost no head. Delicious hops. a bit flat mouthfeel. I feel so lucky to be drinking islay beer. It is like a sherry cask matured whisky with a lot of water. a bit metallic and lots of nice hops, but after taste is surprisingly bad

Fruity. Good balance of malt vs. hops. There might be a hint of smoke in the aftertaste, but might be self suggestion knowing the whiskeys of this island...
