COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask & Bottle Conditioned; Regular.
Nerabus Ale is our winter warmer; a deep ruby colour brewed with pale, caramalt, dark crystal, chocolate and wheat malt. The hops used are Amarillo from America and Bramling Cross from England. It has a black treacle, spicy flavour balanced by the use of spicy and citrusy hops.

Bottle. Dark brown beer with a strongish head. The aroma is well hopped and dry, and the flavour is very bitter and dry. Overall a nice dry beer.

Bottle, Rainhall Drinks, Barnoldswick. There’s a really decent brew struggling to make its presence felt here, but it somehow falls short. It started out promisingly with some nice hoppage mingling with caramel malt to give quite a pleasant and inviting aroma. The flavour was more caramel malts and a vague slightly plasticy fruitiness; the hops aren’t given a chance to shine through, seeming smothered. Its not terrible by any stretch, and extra maeks for coming from Islay. I’m sure this would taste much better if it was drained in the 19th hole of the Machrie with a tasty malt by its side. When that scenario unfolds (asI hope it will one day) I will endeavour to re rate !

Dark brown with a thick rocky head. Quite toasty aroma, light chocolate. Chocolate and slightly toasty palate, with some diacetyl accent, evidenced mainly in a slight slick note on the tongue.

Bottle: Hazy, reddish-amber coloured, firm creamy tanned head; vinous, fruity (dried dark berries) nose with a certain acidity; soft MF, dryish bitter-sourish flavour, light to medium-bodied; fruity vinous finish with traces of cacao and a detectable acidity in the aftertaste. Sourish, but nevertheless quite well drinkable........
