Ungstrup (11354), Frederiksberg, Denmark Dec 13, 2005 [Cask at GBBF 2005] A hazy yellow beer with a disappearing head. The aroma is sweet spicy combined with notes of elderberry flowers and hops. The flavor is sweet malty combined with a spiciness and with a hoppy bitter end. omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden Sep 25, 2004 Bottled. Hazy golden. Peaty and ashy. Burnt malt and iron up front. Light bodied with hard mouthfeel and rusty finish. Truly strange. duff (5407), Sydney, Australia, Surrey, England Aug 7, 2005 Cask@GBBF 05’. Mann what a poor run of beers.! This was dry thin and chalky, it tasted like the bitter i had before this and that one before that, this was even worse though. Like maeib, i thought this was very dissapointing. fonefan (4850), Ulfborg, Denmark Dec 1, 2007 Bottle. Clear medium orange color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, wheat, moderate hoppy, grapefruit, citrus / lemon, moderate yeasty, yeast. Flavor is moderate sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. (301007) chris_o (4409), London, Greater London, England Oct 9, 2005 Cask (gravity dispense), GBBF, August 2005 (Day 2). Pale straw colour. Everyone makes one of these pale quaffing ales these days and its often difficult to distinguish between them. I’d like to see them bursting with flowery, vivacious hops but too many end up just crisp, dry and vaguely citric. Like this one. Don’t get me wrong - its not an unpleasant beer and would work as a thirst quencher on a hot day, but it doesn’t stand out from the pack.
