Scopey (12504) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 30, 2013
Bottle from Islay Ales. It pours golden yellow with a small white head. The nose is citrus, earth, dough and wet leaf. The taste is pleasantly bitter, straw, pithy citrus, soap, earth, dough, spice and light metal with a very dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Decent enough bitter golden ale.

Bottle. Golden, hazy, average and mostly diminishing head. Moderate malty and lightly sweetish aroma, faint tropical fruitiness and light citrus hoppyness. Body is medium, malty and dryish flavor, faint tropical fruitiness, some grassy hoppyness. Finish is average, malty and dry, grassy – some citrus hoppyness. OK dry and well hopped golden ale – in the finish hoppyness gets bit sharp/soapy.

500ml bottle on Islay May 2012. Hazy, golden coloured with, medium white head. Fruity, hoppy and woody aroma. Sweet malt, yeast and hint of whisky in taste. Medium body and soft carbonation. Best Islay ale in my opinion.

Bottled, thanks oh6gdx! Hazy golden. Peachy nose with some chalk. light-medium bodied with rounded, slightly viscous mouthfeel. Plenty of citrus and peach, even more chalk. Long chalky bitterness.

HeistAlmighty (1156) - Saint John, New Brunswick, CANADA - JUL 10, 2012
500ml bottle. Pours a hazy blonde with some lively carbonation and a small white head. Aroma is suprisingly complex for the style: hops, citrus, sweet fruitiness, earthy, a some used bookstore. Sweet malt at the front of the tongue, some earthy bitterness on the finish, and a touch of peat and sourness. Medium body. Dry finish. Overall, delicious, fresh tasting and well balanced.

Hazy copperish body, white head. Aroma has fruity hops and yeast, harsh fruits?, tight maltiness, very dry and bitter, bit plastic, but overall good beer.

500 ml bottle. From the Scottish Real Ale Shop.
Pale orange golden colour with small white head. Bitterish fruity hops, sourish apple, grainy malt and electric fire in aroma. Flavour is bitter hops and heavy grainy malt. Bitterness is harsh but somewhat weirdly enjoyable. Bitterness stays.

In bottle at home. Pours a golden colour with a thick white head. Aroma of musty yeast, pineapple, hay and earth. Quite a musty flavour also with yeasty quite prominent and fairly bitter. Moderate carbonation and a chewy mouth-feel.

Bottle from Scottish Reale Ale shop. Clear golden colour, white head. Nose is caramel malts, slightly hoppy, bit of rubber. Flavour is malty, fairly bitter, some bitter hops. A bit harsh. Not very pleasant.

UPDATED: OCT 7, 2012 smells slightly hoppy w/ a little oak. not very nice. full body but tastes like sun tea gone a bit off bitter finish. not good. i’d think it had sun strike if i hadn’t bought it at the brewery and kept it in a box.
