2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 imdownthepub (7494) - Banbury, - NOV 15, 2009
Cask conditioned at The Anchor, Birmingham. Dark brown with no head. Sour apple flavour right at the start, mouth puckeringly so, then a tarry, fruity note, with a touch of ashphalt. Not my cup of tea, or type of beer come to think of it.

Cask, Chelmsford Beer Festival 2010. Muddy body, cloudy particles, straw malt, soy source, full bodied, and soft carbanation. Think this one was shot. Hmmm..

Cask (gravity dispense) at Pigs Ear Beer Festival, 3 December 2009. Dark red colour. Juicy fruit character in the aroma. Lots more fruit in the flavour. Quite sweet but very tasty. Wouldn’t have had it down as a porter though.

Cask gravity at Pig’s Ear BF 09. Ruby colour, lasting off white head. Bit syrupy. Sweet jammy fruit. Bit of sour on aroma. Good jammy strawberry fruit on aroma. Just a touch of rubber. But very nice with good jammy fruit.

Cask at Pig’s Ear 09.
Oaky, dry beer. Full malt, then a long dry finish. Quite complex, worth trying out.

Cask Handpump at the Harlequin, Sheffield 14/11/2009
Rich fruity aroma. Small white head. Mid brown coloured strong in alcohol and a little rich on the palate with a crisp and slightly bitter malt finish.
