3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 chriso (7065) - London, - OCT 2, 2005
Cask (gravity dispense), St Albans Beer Festival 2005. A very likeable golden ale; clean and fresh, aromatic and fragrant, with more in the way of resinous notes than is the norm for this type of beer. Plenty of juicy fruit too. Nice firm, grippy, mouthfeel. Didn’t get the vanilla though. A decent drop.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 DruncanVeasey (5150) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Prem, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - APR 20, 2012
Slight gusher. 500ml from Arden Wines. Bright gold with a thin white top. Nose of carbon dioxide, honeyed pine, biscuit and golden syrup. Thinnish and soda-like with a smattering of pine, lemon and honey notes; some almond in the aftertaste. Overly fizzy. OK, but a bit too close to macro lager territory for comfort.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 leaparsons (6335) - Leicester, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - FEB 4, 2012
Bottle. Pale gold with a white foam. Aromas are cereal and dusty yeast with mellow lemon. Caramel with hints of floral honey. Flavours are sweet grain and caramel with gritty soda water notes. Honey and lemon with dry cereal and a peppery finish. A bit flat.

[500ml bottle, Tesco, Tobermory] Slightly hazy straw coloured beer, with a faint nose of musty hop and fruit peeking through. Mellow on the palate, some grassy hop in there, with that vanilla-like sweetness others have mentioned. Not amazing, but it actually grew on me through the bottle [24112007]
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 JohnRMurdoch (1575) - Glasgow, SCOTLAND - FEB 8, 2011
Bottle from The Scottish Real Ale Shop. Sweet & sour grassy resin aroma. Amber brown colour. Roasted malt & resin flavour with sweet aftertaste. More of a bitter than a blonde ale.
2.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 hepburn82 (143) - SCOTLAND - JUL 25, 2007
Classic scottish blonde ale appearance, a little disappointing with regards to head retention and lacing, but typical of the style. Aroma is enticing with some strawberry and apple along with honey and very sweet malts. Quite tart in the mouth, sweet and wholesome, bittersweet finish. Some farmyard somewhere in the mix.

Bottle. Golden almost orange like appearance. Sharp taste and very clear appearance. This lingering sharp bitterness makes for an above average bottled bitter.
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Gr0ve (1879) - Oslo, NORWAY - OCT 12, 2006
1/2 pint cask, The Blue Blazer, Edinburgh. Golden coloured with a tight creamy off-white head. Smooth aroma from soft hops. Soapy notes. Lightly acidic flavours at first, but this turns into a mellow malty and well-balanced flavour. Smooth texture, but with a gentle crisp influence from bittering hops.

Cask Stillage from the cellar at the Black Horse, Darwen 03/07/2005
Clear golden coloured and hoppy. Some wheat flavour and dryness in a malt finish.

Cask conditioned and handpulled at the Wellington, Birmingham. Excellent brew from a new Scottish brewer. Hazy gold, big vanilla aroma, almost expected to see vanilla pods floating in there. Thick white creamy head. Like ice cream in a glass, just fantastic on a hot day in Brum.
