Bottled, 500ml fro Stirchley Wines & Spirits, Birmingham. Amber with slight head. This appeared to be really flat to me. Thin malts, a touch piney, a touch metallic. Toffee with some liquorice note, sweet and fairly dull. Not great.

500ml bottle from Arden Wines. Wildly fizzing copper with a slim cream top. Yeasty, autumnal fruit on snout including plum, pear and strawberry, topped with custard. Eye-wateringly fizzy with Fruit Salad and overripe English apple notes; pear, strawberry. Some chaff and wholemeal in the finish. A touch of Belgian fruitiness, maybe. Narrowly the pick of a trio of almost interchangeable yeasty bitters from Mull.

Tasted this in The Three Judges, Glasgow in November 2006. Cask, handpump dispense. Dark ruby in colour with a thick off white head. Sweet vinous fruit in the short aroma. Thin oily mouthfeel and good lacing. Dark malts give a maltloaf base with juicy fruit notes of raisins, sultanas and dark plum. Hardly any hops discernable in the very short aftertaste. Strong winegum like sweetness in the malty finish with juicy booming red wine notes in the mouth. A decent session ESB but maybe too sweet for some.
