Cask conditioned handpump Wig & Pen Northampton. A classic brown coloured beer with an off-white head and lacing. A warm malty beer with a fruity berry aroma. Warm and malty in the mouth. A bit of chocolate and a bit of wood. Dry with late bitterness. Almost autumnal.

[cask at 2011 Battersea Beer Festival] Pours totally flat, brownish red colour. Sweet, slightly toffee aroma with some malt and bitterness. Caramel on the palate with a thin middle, leading to a bitter aftertaste. Needs a bit more oomph [10022011]

@ Raven, Bath. Golden-amber. Lots of caramel and malt. Sweetish, phenolic - some burnt wire and smoke stuff. Toasty - it’s a bit strange.
