500 ml bottle sampled in 2009. Clear amber body with a small but dense beige head. Nice aroma of caramel malt, roast and dry fruit. Flavor is sweet, mild malty, caramel, coffee and dry fruit. Moderate bitterness. Medium body and decent aftertaste with roast. Not a super brew, but actually quite impressive at only 4,5 % ABV and really balanced. Very quaffable.

500ml bottle from Beer Hawk - Very dark in colour with a thick, but rapidly vanishing head despite fairly lively carbonation. Nose is sweet, roasted malt, burnt sugar and a bit of liquorice. Tastes are predominantly sweet, with the burnt malt continuing through leaving a chocolatey aftertaste. Light smooth body with a little hop bitterness, Nice.

Cask at Archibald Simpson?s. It pours very deep brown with a medium beige head. The nose is caramel, liquorice, light roast, dark fruit and an almost vinous aspect. The taste is tart berry (particularly raspberry), light roasted malt, caramel, wood, tanginess, fruit cake, vinous aspect and some astringency with a bitter finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. I actually quite like the tangy aspect to the beer but I doubt its meant to be like that....

I had a whole lot planned on teleportation but I thought I’d visit the Isle of Skye instead. It’s okay but I wouldn’t come back. I doubt I’d be arsed to send a postcard either. But then I remembered Talisker is from here as well. So I stayed a bit and became a little more friendly. Turns out I like it here after all. Is it heretical to talk about whiskey here? What I need is a BrewDog Jura then I can talk about both with impunity. Laters.
