Bottled. Bought at the brewery. Aroma is malty with coffee and some dried fruits. Black coloured beer with an off-white, lasting head. Taste is sweet, has some coffee and fruitiness. Good beer.

Clear dark copper color, fluffy tan head. Malty, sweet, caramel taste. Moussy mouthfeel, low bitterness.

Bottle @ smokeless. Truly black with beige head, gorgeous looks, grandma doily lacing. Unyielding nose is earthy, almost ashen. Solid, smooth body. Silky, low carbonation. Nice sweet peat melange of flavors. A tasty mix of smoke, peat, and sturdy malts.

Slightly hazy dark brown. Thin, bubbly head. Mushroomy nose with light chocolate, coffee accents. Earthy, slightly roasty and largely chocolatey flavour. Full, creamy body. Accents of oats. Clean, with some late caramel and a relatively sweet finish.

Tried from the bottle having purchased from the local Tesco. The beer poured very dark with a head that disapeared quickly. The smell of roast oats, I felt it wasn’t sweet enough to be malts, with a faint hint of coffee and a faint spicy, fruity smell. This theme continued through to the taste but there was a slight bitterness possibly berries or bitter figs, I was worried this would be too sweet but this balanced it out well. A fine pint that I personally would have again.
