Aroma of orange juice sweet grain, light caramel near-roast malt, very light UK hops, hint of heather (okay, that’s probably power of suggestion ...), some yeast. Taste - iced tea, mimosa, lightly grassy slightly funky hops, quite sweet with a quick finish, develops quite an impressive bitterness at the end. Mouthfeel is a little fizzy, slightly watery - not a bad drinking beer, would make an easy pint or two; couldn’t taste the 7% in it at all - I felt it after I finished it, though. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 3, 2006 500 ml bottle purchased somewhere on my Dec 2005 midwest trip. Pours quite a murky light amber-gold with a ridiculous head; thought infection for a second but there was no gushing...head dies down fast to leave faint lacing and a fine coating on the body....nose surprisingly citrusy at first, then sweet and caramelly, with an undercurrent of grassy sharpness...body is quite sweet, just a touch lactic and sour, mildly hoppy, with a faint smoky/woody character that is just not pronounced enough....malt is on the light side, and citric acidity doesn’t fit to my mind, body needs more fullness and depth....fairly bitter and dry at the finish, carbonation is a bit too high. Fairly mediocre for the style though reasonably drinkable. DavidP (1743), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Oct 24, 2005 Bottle under the Wee Beast label. Clear bronze body under a very fluffy white head that leaves all sorts of lacing. Sugary sweet flavor aroma: tulips, powdered sugar and caramel. Herbal, grassy bitterness comprises the bulk of the flavor with slightly ashy, dry caramel malt sulking in the background. The tulips come back in the finish to add a fruity sense. A weak-kneed Scotch, I like mine sweeter and with more of a smoked or peat presence. I can get hops elsewhere! Metalhead (570), Lake Zurich, Illinois, USA

Tastes kinda like a Fullers 1845 with tea, toffee and fruit tossed in. ABV weel masked. About $4 a pint. Not outstanding but highly quaffable. Nice. larsniclas (3382), Gothenburg, Sweden

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Sep 12, 2005 Starts out nice with a creamy foamy head with a dark tea color. Not smell to speak off. Then it goes down hill from there..alcohol keeps any of the flavoring from being enjoyable. mephisto (1144), Taiwan
