Copper color, quite nice offwhite head. Malty, nutty aroma with chocolate notes. Malty, nutty flavor with a somewhat vinous feeling. Maybe a little thin to be this strong, but this is a good ale.

Bottled. Clear dark copper colour. Soft malty nose, with notes of toffee and light chocolate, subtle but very pleasant. Alcohol is subtle as well. Flavour is a little smokey(rubber feel?), has a rich smooth maltiness along with a little caramel. A pleasant bitterness finishes this very nice Scotch Ale.

Slightly hazy orange/amber color with a moderate head that left good rings. Sort of an apple cider aroma with touch of hops. Light bodied, dryish, and a little fruity-strawberries, with a delicate malt/hop balance and quick finish. Decent tasting beer but not particularly my idea of a Scottish ale.

Clear amber, rich frothy tan head. Wonderfull smooth, malty aroma of chocolate, toffee, butter, milk with a strong vinous aroma as it warms up. Very smooth flavour of light chocolate, toffee, cream with a soft, almost gentle smokey note. Smooth, malty finish.

Bottle from Green Welly Stop, Tyndrum. Good strong Scottish ale. Nice golden colour, unusual for the style. Vinous aroma. Good Body. Fruity finish. Doesn’t taste its strength. Very pleasant.

medium amber color, white head. aroma is slightly spicy and malty as a mofo. flavor is essentially the same, mostly sweet with some caramel qualities and even a bit of dryness in the finish.

Pours an off-white, one finger-head that goes slowly leaving a good lace. Cloudy amber color. Medium carbonation. Medium bodied. Nose is earthy. Starts with a roasted coffee flavor, finish is a balnce of malt and hops that is sweet but dry. Easy to drink, alcohol is not noticeable. $4.40 for a 500ml bottle from Colonial Spirits Acton, Ma.

500 ml brown bottle. No freshness date seen. Poured out with no carbonation whatsoever. Completely flat. Aromas are of soured malts. Tasted nasty. Flat, one dimensional flavor. Didn’t even produce a head. A certified drain pour.
