Cloudy amber body topped by a smallish white head. The aroma is heavily malty. It’s really more earthy than peat smokey, but I like it. The more it warms, the maltier it gets, until I actually start digging on it by the end of the bottle. The beginning starts off a little weak with a bit of caramel, but this beer really has to warm to come into its own.

500ml bottle, No BBD Big earthy malt aroma with a mix of chocolate and cantalope...drinks to a disapointingly weak lingering metallic finish. Certainly a malt monster, but I’m not finding any peaty smokey nuance...and it is sweet with earth, but well attenuated...slight cucmber taste(malt) mingles with chocolate...its bubbling, but it seems flat...mint mixed in with the malt maybe...I’m no Wee Heavy expert or enthusiast, and this won’t turn me into one...maybe I’d try it again if I was in Scotland, but not again over here...and to make things worse, I’m watchiing Jimmy Kimmel live featuring a performance of "Come Sail Away" boy, too bad some rockers didn’t OD!

Strong aroma of syrup and caramel. The mouthfeel is rather thin at first, then it subsides to more malt feel that is too sweet for its own good. It could use some heartier malt or a bit more hops to balance it out some. A respectable beer nonetheless.

Crimson coloration, cloudy, with a light layer of whitish foam...aroma? fruit, hops, bright, sunny, citric, very arousing, uplifting...very nice. Taste: good, hoppy, fruity, full-bodied, and very flavorful. Rich and well-rounded, tasty...have I said "yum" yet? sweet fruitiness, peaches, apricot, melon, more...a bit forbidding, at 7%, but the sweet flavor wins over any anxiety. this is flat-out delicious! rings around the mouth nicely. Another bottle of Scotch-built goodness. Very good. Yum, yum, yum.

Tight, sustaining, off-white head on a hazy, orange-hued gold ale. Aroma is deeply malty with orange fruit, cocoa powder and a toasty nuttiness. Bakers chocolate underpins a medium-bodied carmelized malt character. A yawner.

Murky amber-orange with an eye-pleasing rocky manilla head. The aroma is interesting, peat, fresh mulch, slight sweetness, and a little bit of tobacco. The flavor is simialar to the aroma wit a bit more peat and sweetness than expected. The alcohol is well hidden. Body is medium-light. Not a bad beer.

Hazy brown, almost orange color with a dish-soap-like head. Little smoke on the nose. More smoke in the taste and some peaty characteristics not unlike Talisker which is probably distilled close by. A little malt hanging around as well. Not bad, but not the typical Scottish Ale.
