Bottle. Pours a nice deep amber colour with a good lasting off-white head. Nice aroma of dark fruits, toffee, softly roasted malt and a bit of chocolate. Nice mouthfeel. The flavour is sweet with toffee, some roasted malt, dark fruits, hops and some alcohol. NIce long lasting dark fruity, toffee chocolate finish with some bitterness.

Pours deep gold into an English pint. Sickly off-white head leaves no retention as it subsides to scum surface. Mild fruit and caramel aromas. Smooth with upfront caramel and a lasting, slightly smoked hop finish.

Pours clear amber with a gentle layer of foam. Smells include cherry liqueur. Flavors are a bloody mess. Soured laundry entry and rancid walnuts in the aftertaste. This bottle was purchased at the dusty store on Kendall Drive (Neighborhood Quick Stop). If the bottle isn’t off, the beer sure is.

US bottle Wee Beast. Pours hazy orange amber, fluffy off white head. Aroma is port, raisin, prune, oak, pine, chocolate. Flavor is port, pine, oak, malt, molasses, coffee, grassy-earthiness, metal notes (copper, tin). An interesting blend.

Bottled in US as Wee Beast. Pours a cloudy orange-amber. Thin dissipating head that clings slightly to the sides. Aroma of roasted malts, orange peel, grass. Creamy but slightly tart mouthfeel. Sweet bread taste, toasted hops, peat, soap, and lingering, gently bitter hops. This beer is well crafted, worth a try, but for all the care that clearly went into making it, it is rather plain.

Cask in the Bon Accord. Aroma is spicey,, grassy hops, yeasty, sweet and cloying. Taste is similar dark fruits coming through, too sweet with just raw grassy bittering hops. As usual the scottish brewer makes a beer which is a gimmick which must then sell, rather than looking at what the market wants.

Bottled. A dark copper coloured beer with hints of ruby. The aroma is fruity with hops, hints of caramel and toffee. Silky smooth palate with nice fruits and more sweet malts. Creamy and vinuous. Really tasty . Nice body.

(Old rating discovered in a dusty pile of forgotten notes.) I’m betting this one is courtesy after4ever. Pours lightly hazy copper with a somewhat lacy off-white head. Medium body and carbonation. Aroma of figs and brown sugar. Nutty bread taste with a lightly bitter finish.
