Aroma of caramel, lightly peated malt and fruits. Pours a clear brown color with a thin offwhite head. Interestinf flavor of burnt caramel with ligthly peated malt and a mild bitter finish. The body is medium with a liqourous texture and medium carbonation.

500ml bottle - Pours hazy light amber with a one finger, long lasting head that leaves good lacing. The aroma is mainly caramel malt and some alcohol. The flavor is malt with toffee characteristics. The mild hops give it a nice balance and come through more strongly in the finish. Medium bodied, but a little watery, this brew is certainly enjoyable, though I’m still not convinced it’s worth the seven bucks the local pub charges. It is good though.

(500 ml bottle from <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/maine/boothbay/ target=blank>1828 Vintage House) Soft and sticky, kind of smoky...Pours cloudy amber with one finger of pretty sturdy biscuit head that eventually melts to a thin covering. Aroma of fairly rich toffee/caramel. Mouthfeel quite soft and smooth, pretty sticky. Flavor is rather smoky with some peatiness (not apparent from the aroma), along with mildly sweet caramel/toffee. A pinch of bitterness creeps into finish. Pretty good.

Cask (Pub at the Pier, Uig): Amber coloured, no head to speak of; sweetish-fruity nose with a tinge of cinnamon; medium to full bodied, solid sweetish flavour; becomes a bit hoppier towards the bitter-sweet finish. Nothing special, completely overrated

16.9 oz bottle. Pours a cloudy amber with a large fluffy off white head that is fed for several minutes by ample carbonation. Light but pleasant aroma of malt and alcohol. Flavor is malt, alcohol, brown sugar, and a bit of unsweetened iced tea. Bitter finish. Medium bodied.

Bottle. Rich amber beer with a very low off-white head. Malty aroma with some slight smokiness. Malty flavor with slight earth and mineral tones. Medium body. Lingering mineral and malt. Straight forward and simple but not bad.
